Hey there! I am a long time TDR member and would like to know if there any other members here locally. Southern Calif Riverside county. I am going to be changing my Fuel filter today on my 04. 5, I have the instructions but wouldn't mind a second pair of eyes for my first go at it. Thanks! Oo.

I'm in the "951". I am in Menifee. I had an 04. 5 and the fuel filter is a piece of cake to replace. There should be a couple of threads on "How too" if you do a search. I have an 06 Mega now and it looks like the same procedure for filter replacement.

Hey there! I teach at the High School in Menifee. Paloma Valley! I'm sure you have heard of it. Yes, thanks, I got all the instructions and stuff off the search function!! I am going to go do it when I get home. My only question was, when the new filter is installed and I bump the starter do I leave the KEY ON inbetween bumps or turn it off and then back on? THanks! I have always left the key on and bumped it three or four times. Never had any problems and always started right up.

I'm in Temecula. I never bump the starter, just turn the key on and off, as soon as i don't hear the pump anymore I crank it and it's always fired up. Good luck. JR

Thanks ropin fool! I team rope too! ( Not sure if you do). Take care... . I know it's simple and I HATE to have a dealer do something I could EASILY do myself!

One more question, would this procedure work for a 2002?

The 02 is more important to fill before trying to start. The common rail is no problem it will fire anyway with its electronic injectors vs the mechanicle on the 02

Hey I forgot that my cousin lives in hemet. He just got an 06 2500. Its the dark grey. He works over at the dump doing something, so he drives 79 every day.
