I'll be moving to the Charlottesville area of Virginia in the spring. Hopefully, I'll be getting a 1st or 2nd generation truck at that time. Just wondering if there are any TDR members or groups in the general area.
Can't wait to get my Dodge Diesel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am in the Tidewater area near Norfolk- originally from NYC and later Holbrook LI- good to see more Yankees are seeing the light- I have been here twenty years- Charlottesville is a very sophisticated and livable area due to the University of Virginia and tourism-great place to live
I'll keep in touch as time passes. The new home should be ready by the end of March. That's when I'll probably start my search for a well maintained Dodge Cummins. Keep yer ears peeled and if you hear of a goog deal, drop me an e-mail.
Thanks for the welcome Champspa. Let's see if we can hook up once I'm down there.
I've been checking the classifieds daily as per your suggestion Shovelhead. I would rather buy a truck from a TDR member than from an outside source. If,,,,, or I should say,, when I find one,, no doubt I'll be blowin my horn here on the TDR site.
In the mean time, I'll be monitoring all of the forums for the latest news and events.
There is a very new chapter, MATDR, which is made up of folks from the VA and NC area. We have had a few get-togethers like meeting for weekend lunches and a dyno event. We are hoping to schedule a dyno event sometime this month or the next.
" Glad to see more yankees are seeing the light" is a matter of opinion. To really to be accepted you will have to pass muster with us rednecks. Till then you will be just another yankee down here trying to change us cause we just don't know the correct way to think. Must be something we're doing right cause there show is a bunch a y'all here. Must be our Cummins.
The last thing I'd want to do is to try and change the way any of you think! That's one of the main reasons why we decided to move down to your neck of the woods. Your, "way of life", is much more appealing than the fast paced ways of the New York area.
And a big bonus of the south is that you can hear a Cummins approaching from down the road!!!

in Roanoke. Maybe we can hook up sometime. The guys I met from the MDTDR are a great bunch of guys and the two gatherings I've been to were great.
Thanks for the reply. I'll definitely keep in touch with all who replied once I get settled in the spring. I'm really looking forward to getting my truck and meeting with the rest of you.
