What size exhaust?

thinking about getting a little smaller turbo for my '01 ...



very happy with JR's turbo



but i've only turned on my drag comp twice this year, once to spank a 6. 0 who was annoying me in Scranton, PA



and once to puff a little smoke at the request of a little guy in the Wal-Mart parking lot Oo. ... priceless



anywho ...



i've heard nothing but good things about HTT ... so i'd appreciate any thoughts on the new super 40 ...



my primary reason for downsizing would be to make the truck more efficient for daily driving ...
 
I agree. 40 max psi and I haven't been able to bark mine, and I am pretty hard on it. From what I understand this is straight from Holset. Mine isn't the Super 40 but is rebuilt to pretty much the same specs as what Holset does and has been a great turbo.

The super 40 is more of a performance charger than the 40. Still not as good as an s300 in my opinion, but definately a step in the right direction.

figured it would make a good smaller turbo in a set of twins ...

wife has promised me a TIG welder when we get the new house done ...



anyone know what the difference is between the 40 and super 40?
 
I've had a Piers Super 40 for quite some time. It had 50K on it before I sent it back to get freashened up for my twin set up. My under standing is the compressor wheel on the super 40 has more blades and a modified pitch. Before drilling a hole in the exhaust housing it would make 48 PSI with the waste gate wide open at 40. it has been a great turbo aloan it flowed enough air to make right at 500 HP with the twin set up with some more fuel I think it has 700+ hp in it.



After Bully Dogs first Dyno day as I pulled out I lost the HX-50 I had on my truck & put a normal Piers HX-40(Heberam's) on because mine was home on the shelf. The normal HX-40 spooled slower and didn't have the mid range the super did.
