Anybody have any tips tricks when draining fuel filters? In addition to the instructions in the manual. DO you do both or one at a time the one under the chassis and the the engine one? does anybody permanently attaches hose to the drain valves? 2500 2016 6.7L SRW 11 moths old 6854 miles.

I have a larger diameter hose that slides over the front filter hose that drains into a bucket. I drain the rear filter into an ice cream pail. Both at the same time.

I do them at the same time. I use a 3/4"? ID hose for the front to slip over the existing drain hose and drain into a small bucket. Don't spill a drop doing the front.

For the rear, I use a drain hose on the nipple of the filter and drain into a bucket. So far (2 changes) I have not been able to get the filter off without at least some diesel running down my arm!

Other than that, just follow the instructions in the diesel book that comes with the truck.

I put the front drain hose in an empty plastic water bottle, the bottle sits on the front diff or front axle tube. It's been a while, so I don't recall exactly which. I have a small pan that i use to drain my mower oil, works well for the rear fuel filter as well.

The same size clear plastic hose that fits the rear bib will slide inside the front hose. I do the rear first and then push the start button several cycles without my foot on the brake to prime the filter before starting. Then move to the front one. Snoking
