Any Users of Caterpillar ELC Coolant/Antifreeze?

Caterpillar ELC is Silicate fee.



Now it appears Cummins requires low Silicates.



To: to protect certain gasket materials.

I asked a co-worker who used to work for HOPENN about the coolant/antifreeze he said "I heard it eats seals".



Now where to find "special silicate additive liquid"

Been using shell elc since my truck was new now has 560. 000kms (348,000k) never had any problems. Shell recommends additive package at 600,000k or change coolant then. I have never had to change anything in the cooling system, except thermostat,at about 300,000k.

i ran elc for a time, when i could get it easily. never had any problem with it. i am back to the green stuff though, had to pull the radiator to access the engine so i went back to the regular coolant.

Worked for a CAT dealer for 5 years, we put it in everything, never had a problem.
