Is there anyone WITH A STOCK TRUCK, that has had a lift pump, or VP go bad, with or without FASS/PREPORATOR? If so, at what mileage.

My first VP44 that went, crapped out completely stock - roughly ~45000 miles. Second one that went out was with EZ only (FP gage).

Madbomber,

Did your LP fail before your bombs, or after?

I'm just trying to get an understanding of how reliable the LP and VP can be when on a stock truck.

thanks

I've heard of LOTS of LP dieing even on a stock truck. It's just a bad design putting the LP 10. 5 from the tank. Carter who makes those LP says they are NOT to be more than 3' from tank. The restriction in the banjo bolts does not help much. BTW it was after bombs about 6K

Hey c-hawk, Any chance you could post a couple of pictures of your installed FASS system. My truck is very similar to yours and I would like to see how it mounts on the SWB quad cab.

Thanks

Frank

Sorry Frank,

I wish i had the capabilities to take and post pics, but i don't. My lil bro could help me like he's done before, but he's away at school.

My vp44 went at 68k.

Truck was and still is completely stock.

When dealer replaced it, they said LP was still good.

I changed the LP myself right after the new vp went in, but only as a precaution.

If the dealer was right(big if) about the LP being good, my vp went on my stock truck and it had never saw a drop in fuel pressure.

I never ran it out of fuel. I did however, routinely run it the tank below 1/8.
