Thanks B9Mile. Its just the mechanical interface area were interested in then. The TPS has no idea its a solonoid or the actual foot pedal doing the work.

Maybe someone can chime in here and straighten me out.

I think it was at about the '01 model year when the TPS (APPS) was eliminated and the potentiometer was relocated to the Go Pedal. Then the cruise control vacuum servo motor under the driver's side battery was replaced by electronics.

So, the later model trucks won't be able to use the solenoid / bell crank setup ??

B9mile,

My truck is an early '01 and it still has the APPS and vacuum servo under the battery. I'm not sure about the newer trucks.

I, too was looking for bowers, with no luck. My Bro. in law works at NAPA, I'll just have him hook me up with the old carb solenoid. Untill then, I'll keep on with the caveman-principle stick on the pedal... . :p

B9MILE,

I used mongoose's setup on my '02. Other than having having to tap the accelerator pedal bue to a lack of oompf, it works like a charm. The model I got had an adjustable plunger, which made it real easy to dial in right, and it fits under the cover without having to cut it up. I think all total I have $30 into it, and I can still use it at red lights if I need to. Since I do mostly city driving during the week, this was the main reason to go this route instead of the "stick wedged against two points" method.

Thanks for the help on the throttle setup, everyone. I don't remember where I got that idea about the electronics. CRS must be taking over!
