Aux. Transmission Cooler suggestion?

I checked out Aero-Tanks webpage today and am interested in their 40 gallon replacement tank. I already sent an inquiry but would like unbiased feedback from anyone on the list that has dealt with them.

Do they make a quality product and do they stand behind the products they sell? Are they pleasant to deal with, or...

Six gallons is not a big improvement over stock but it will give me about 120 more miles per tank. Originally, I wanted ATTB's toolbox fuel tank combo but 1300. 00 is to much for to little tool storage. I would like the extra fuel but really need more storage.

Northern Parts Warehouse has a toolbox fuel tank combo that appears identical to ATTB's and the price is 489. 00 sans fuel sending unit, solenoid valve and fittings. I am leery about trying to plumb and make it work properly.

ATTB said that their tank would not gravity feed properly-why? If the connection is make at the top of the factory tank, that it would gravity feed without problem.

Ideas or opinions?

Last October I purchased a 60gal replacement tank from Aerotank. They are very pleasant!
WORD OF CAUTION! Have them send you an installation guide prior to purchase if you can. There instructions are a bit shy in my opinion. I had lots of trouble with their shipper but not Aerotanks. The dealer was installing the tank and discovered not all parts were delivered. Shipper lost one package. Dealer (Dodge) called Aerotanks and they air shipped that day and arrived next day. The tank was sent to Mississipi then back to Oregon. AeroTanks worked for me trying to get a freight refund but was unsucessful as the freight company lost the request. Love the tank. Especially when diesel was $1. 81 and now is $1. 75. Needless to say I purchase out of town.

Alpenlite-

I called Aero-Tank this morning and the damage is 670. 00 delivered for an additional 6 gallons in the shortbed. To expensive for the small gain.

Tough decision.

Tell me about the ATTB unit you have. I was looking at this model first but it is 1300. 00 delivered.

Maybe the Northern Parts tank is not that bad a deal. I can add pork chop boxes later if I really need more storage. I searched the archives and found a lot of information as suggested by Large Car and it looks like it would not be difficult to plumb.

243, I remember one of the guys in the club up here telling me about a problem he had with his Aero-Tank. Something about a leak. I think they replaced it.

I was considering the ATTB 90 gallon aux tank for the bed. I talked to the guy at Super Chevy a few weeks ago. He said that it is illegal to set up the tank as a gravity feed. thought the price was a little steep myself. The price he quoted me of 1300 included the sending unit. 950 for the tank and 250 for the sending unit.

I have thought some about the 60 gallon replacement from Aero-Tanks. Let me know how yours goes if you get one.

See you this Sunday at Cracker Barrel.

Jeff-

It may be illegal to set the tank up to gravity feed, I am not sure myself. I am still trying to decide what to do. If the tank/toolbox from Northern Parts is the same as ATTB, I may just buy it and worry about the plumbing later. With the 800. 00 I save over ATTB, I can figure something out #ad

See ya Sunday,
