Honda maintenance question

Just got the ol' layoff today. We knew it was coming and figured it would be in 4-5 weeks. argh!!!! the note with my check said "Happy Holidays". At least I'll be ahead of the others when I shape the hall. Only 400 people at work right now..... :(

I was laid off after 9-11. Took me 7 months to get an underpaid job. Things have turned around since then and I now have my best job ever and doing well. God took care of us the whole time. Good luck and Merry Christmas.

Freightliner here in Portland layed off over 100 people yesterday. That's gotta be difficult around the holidays :(

That sucks man. But... don't let it eat you up. . find a way to be positive about it. I know easy to say, tough to do.

Look at it this way... you have plenty of time to go around collecting WVO!!

When I was in my 20's I got layed off from a construction job on Christmas Eve (at the Christmas party no less!).

While in a bar that night I was talking with my Hunting buddy about going to NW PA and doing some duck hunting out of canoes. There was an older lady sitting in the booth behind us and she turned around and said "Oh, I hear you 2 guys talking, do you know about boats?" She explained her husband delivered sail boats for a living (retired Fed Judge from Phila) and He was in Tortola in the Virgan Isle. needing additional crew.

On the 26 of December I left on a flight they paid for to tortola to spend the next 6 weeks learning how to sail on a 44' center sloop! Best layoff I ever had :)

Keep your head up, everything will work out.

been there and said screw it and started my own business 10 years ago.

I'll never understand why companies do that, hang in there, I've been down that road and like others have said, it could turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to you.

Sorry to hear that... hopefully you'll find something more rewarding in the future...

You could always become a male prostitute... :-laf

Keep your head up man.

I have been in your position... knew it was coming and then it happend right after the holidays (it looks better for the company that ways).

Nope ... not yet. I've got 3 more months at best before the ax. Company says they are "moving" to another building in the area ... yeah right. We all know we're gonna be told to take our boxes of desk stuff to our cars and go home on 3/31/06.

Might be time to head to North Carolina for me (in the technology triangle) for SAP programming work ... seems like a good area ... a lot warmer than NH and a nice 600 yrd. range for shooting at Fred's M14 stocks place.

I know everyone says hang in there ... its tough. Just sit down with Jack and his friend Johnny Walker for a while and things will get better.

A friend on mine just got let go one year away from retirement.

Yes, he already has hired a dirtbag lawyer…

It is beyond belief.

Its OK to spend a little time visiting Jack and Johnny but they really wont help you get back into the swim…
