Cb Q&a

Just wonderin' who else will be there. Me and the regular "race event regulars" will be taking our trailers up there and dropping them off the saturday before easter (a week before the race) so we get a good spot.

Save a spot for my son. It sure is hard getting a decent camping spot down there. I quit going for that very reason.

I was getting down there on Wednesday before the race and still having to camp out by the big sign next to the Interstate.

You can get a decent camping spot at Talladega on Saturday before the race. Of course Talladega has a million acres around it.

I'm going to Kansas City - twice. And Martinsville, VA next month.

You ain't kiddin' about it being packed. . that's why we take the trailer up a week in advance... they open the gates up saturday morning (8 days before the race!!) and there is a line of campers waiting to get in... it's kinda fun, kinda like re-enacting the land rush. .

I will be there also. I wont be pulling my 5er though. Its our first time for Texas Speedway.

We will be sitting in turn one looking straight down pit road. I hope these seats are decent.

What I need to know is... . what time should I leave Plano and get to the track with enough time to park, eat and maybe let the women have a little time to shop?

We are going to both Sat. and Sun. races. I am pretty sure shopping is out of the question on Sunday. Figuring too many folks there.

I also have been going to 'Dega for the last seven years and getting to the track for nine usually works good for us. I dont camp at the track, I camp about 16 miles from the track.

Thanks

Traffic starts backing up at around 6AM. Either day.

I heard there is construction on I35 and Texas 114. Should be fun getting in and out.

If you stay at the track then you will be okay. We went the first three years of the Texas race and the third year we left at 6:30 A. M. (We were staying 5 miles from the track) and at 1:00 P. M. we were still 1 mile from the track because of the traffic nightmare. We ended up hauling butt back to the hotel and watched the last 100 miles of the race from there. That was it, we have not been back since. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing like being there but not worth the hassle for us. Good Luck

barry, i have no idea what to tell you... the traffic does get better each year (they add a new twist/improvement to the plan every year) but it is still unbelievable. . hopefully someone who has gone recently will post. . jumbo said around 6am, but I don't know how long it has been since he went
