I've always thought about having a bounty hunter option. Make it a private industry with an incentive.

Alternately, you need to nip the financial incentive to both business and the folks coming over illegally in the bud... . no national id card... . no job, no health, no school, no welfare... bye, bye... try applying legally.

Won't it be great when we get the embedded id chip. ;)

PS: I didn't mean the bounty hunters had to bring in just the ears... alive would be preferrable.

I think its agreat idea, but can I bring my AR15? Its more cost effective than the useless Border Patrol.

Yes, you can bring your AR15. Jim Gilchrist, the guy behind the project, said that would be an option - a personal decision. He declines to carry but said others are welcome to exercise that right. He re-stated the well-known fact that AZ has both open carry and CCW permit so as long as you keep that AR out where everybody can see it...

The only weak link in the plan is that the posse will just be spotters; when they see a suspect they "will notify the Border Patrol. "

Gilchrist also stated that there are an estimated 5000/day coming across our southern border - TX, NM, AZ, CA.

This might have the makings of a pre-May Madness TDR rally. Can y'all imagine a couple hundred CTDs ripping up the desert in Cochise County?
