I know the general consensus among the TDR brethren is that you hate the new fender flares. However I got to demo one last weekend and I must say they started to grow on me. I was also amazed on how well the truck rode in comparison to my quadcab. Any way I was wondering if anybody purchased one yet and what your thoughts were. I am still wondering how I could afford one of these ..... perhaps I could get lucky and win the lotto. Oo.

I too had the opurtunity to test drive one of these, and they ARE very NICE! The fenders look much different than the pictures.

Hey, over here, I got one!!!!!!! Oo. Just got it monday night.

The fenders don't look as "1st Gen" in person as they do in the pictures. Yea, they could have done a little better job, but overall they look pretty darn good. And I think they fit the truck better than something that would have gone from the back door to the tailgate in keeping with the bigger hips that have become the norm in duallys.

So far (all 100 miles so far  ) very solid truck. Even opening and closing the doors sounds more solid. Less wind noise from the windows and doors. Overall, Much quieter (road noise wise) inside than my 04. 5 was. And the inside is HUGE. Both labs and my daughter went for a ride without invading each others "space" last night and it was great!

Just wish I could have gotten a floor shift transfer case. :{ That knob just don't seem right :-laf

Noticed one at the dealer the other day when I got my oil-changed. I admit looks better than it did in the original press photos. Also I could not really tell, but are the fenders metal too? They sure felt and sounded like they were.

Mega-cab dually

Thanks for the response guys! TEE congrats on your new truck... ... ..... you need to take some pictures so we can check it out. Do you plan to pull with it... ... ... if so let me know how it does. I have a 34ft camping trailer that moves my truck around when in tow... . so I am considering a dually over my single rear wheel. Keep me posted and thanks again guys for the response.

Southbound,

I don't tow much. I have an enclosed car hauler that I have a golf cart and Jr Dragster in. Plus a bunch of tools and stuff for racing. Probably only 4-5K all loaded up.

And then my boat which only weighs 4-5K on the trailer.

However the slide in camper in my sig is usually on there also when I am towing.

I'll let you know once I get it out on the road loaded up!!!!

I don't mean to butt in, but if you are planning to tow heavy with one of these be aware that the GVWR for a MC dually is only 10,500 pounds. The QC dually is 12,200 pounds. My fifth wheel's pin weight would put me well over the GVWR if I had a MC dually. It's been discussed here that a MC dually really only has about the same payload (once you look at truck weights) as the QC Single Rear Wheel truck.

Why Dodge did that is lost on me.

The questions I have is who will be the first to take these fenders and put them on a short bed quadcab?

Dont look at me!

I saw one up here yesterday. Fenders really look like 1st gen. which I liked except on the new ones they have that lame looking recess for the fuel door. Just my thought.
