i have a 99 that i installed an edge ez last year and it was working great. i dont know if its screwed or if its something else with my truck. the truck would smoke when i goosed it but now it doesnt and it seems to be down on power. i noticed it the day after i was coming back from a race, towing an enclosed trailer(approx. 10k lbs) it was doing good til i stopped at sunoco and fueled up, i usually buy fuel at the truck stop but i didnt want to run the truck too low on fuel. i changed the fuel filter(it looked good), my fuel pressure has been a little low (5psi at wot and 10 at idle) would that do it??? what else could it be??? should i replace the lift pump??

thanks for any input!!

Doug,

You should look into changing out that lift pump. From reading what others have written here, with a change out, you will probably find your lost power, plus your vp44 will be benefit from the additional cooling the added fuel will provide.

I'd change it out asap, if it were me. I was on my 3rd pump before I installed the Fass II.

Take care,

Casey

Casey thanks for the reply i just changed the pump this weekend and it is running 100% better, i found the lost power. i now have 15 psi at idle and 10 psi at wot. the pump i removed looks like the orig. and the truck has 73k miles on it so from what ive read its lasted longer than alot of others.

I had one die after only 18 months. The newer ones are worse in quality. Gotta love the Chinese offshoring.
