My boss does not have a diesel Dodge, but a quad cab 3/4 ton with a 360 gasser. Driving down the road I must of picked up some varnish or some awful sticky substance on the passenger side while doing snow removal. I'm bummed he's bummed. What is going to get this crap off. Get my boss off my case. :{

Prep-sol

Professional body shops use a DuPont product, liquid named PrepSol, it is a wax and grease remover which will not harm painted surfaces. It is used to prepare the body panel for either prior body work or paint. I am certain it is very similar to plain Bug and Tar remover. Just remember to let it soften up what you are trying to remove and use a clean soft cotton cloth to wipe it off.

Hope this helps you !!

Not the greatest thing to use, but laquer thinner got it off. I had to be careful and do a section at a time then wax the area. So the laquer thinner wasn't bad on the paint and got the shine back with wax. Thanks for the help.

Lacquer Thinner

I would not use lacquer thinner to remove anything except lacquer paint. Thinner is too hot for any painted surface and could possibly soften what ever you use it on. It is a BIG NO in the auto body industry !!!!

Use enamel reducer if nothing else!!! Hope this helps. :)
