I have my "spare" sitting in a pump shop, and they are asking about $1000 to rebuild it. This seems to be the going rate, but doesn't really jive with me in that at that amount I can just buy another rebuilt pump.

Does anybody have a line on who might be able to rebuild at a more reasonable price (or can confirm that $1000 is reasonable)?

Thanks.

Welcome to the VP44 world.............

I can not even find anyone to rebuild one around here. I only answer I got is that bosch or a bosch approved shop are the only ones that can get the parts to rebuild with. So they take the cores back and rebuild then sell again at full price.

You might also check with someone like Piers - and the Bosch repair shop in Las vegas was supposedly getting the equipment to allow them to handle the VP-44's - don't remember the name of the shop, but Joe or someone in the Las Vegas area probably has the info...

$1000 for a rebuild sounds incredibly high - last rebuild estimates I heard ran about $350-$450 - just hafta find a shop to do it, I'll hafta dig thru my stuff to see if I can come up with a name, if someone here doesn't beat me to it...
