My garage is big enough for my Vic and a couple pieces of wood and that's about it. MY truck's only a little over 2yrs old so take it FWIW. Paint is unharmed by the sun... road salt and debris is another matter. I've got a light gray dashmat. The uncovered parts still look like new... if I ever clean them.

Im in So Cal and mine has been in the sun since I got it.

One of the first things I installed was in channel vent visors and a dash cover.

Like the previous member posted, with the vent visors, you can leave the windows down a little for ventleation.

It is washed every week and waxed once a month and still looks like new.

I also had the front windows tinted which seems to help.

Thanks for all the replys. Sounds like I shouldn't worry too much about the sun on the truck itself. But the camper top already seems to have faded slightly and the brake light on the camper top is completely clouded over from the sun. Even at work the camper top is covered except late in the afternoon when the sun gets low enough to peek under the awning.

Interesting... ... ... what brand of shell is it?

It's an A. R. E. I like the way this top looks, but this is the second problem I've had with the brake light. When I first got the top the light leaked and had to be replaced. Now it's completely clouded over and looks very bad/old. I'm also a little concerned with how the paint on the roof of the camper is going to hold up.

I'd like to get some bigger tires, but if I do my truck won't fit in the garage any more. For those who park in the sun every day, how is the paint and interior holding up to the UV rays?

I was able to remove the cedar trim around the garage door, rip off the lower edge of the header and the siding above it, and put the trim back on. (had to get new ones for the sides) About an inch and a half of the door was covered by trim and door seal so the door was unchanged.

bighammer,

I looked at my garage door and it looks like that might work for me too. Thanks for the suggestion. My wife might not be so excited though; she thought she was going to get my spot soon.
