Don't be so sure that one day these first gens won't be more valuable than their original selling price . . I bet a bone stock 89 W250 will be a collectors item one day. . It's really the truck that started a whole diesel trend... ... It surely wasn't the GMCs or the Fords of that time that got things were they are now... ... .

Mines sits in the garage too most of the time but it has just over 18000 miles on it  -----never forget about it either(always trying to think about what i can save/spend on somemore goodies/bombs etc) as i walk by it and jump in my 91 Acura beater  to drive to work. :D :D :D PS But everytime i do jump in my Dodge Cummins to drive, it still puts a BIGAS%( :D) grin on my face . DW

For what its worth, i drive mine once a week or so just to keep everything lubed up and wet. If it sits any longer than that i start to get "truck withdrawl" and take it for a good run down the highway, let it get up to operating temps for a bit.

I agree with GL- that thing has spent waayyyy too much time sitting for me to even borrow to take on a trip, much less buy and sink another $4-5K into fixing stuff that has corroded, hardened, gummed up, etc. Maybe if you swapped a 200K drivetrain in, but then you could get your old truck fixed up for way less.

I have a speedo with 46K showing. :-laf
