Anybody order a truck recently?

Just wondering how long it really takes. I ordered one Tue. The dealer showed some kind of arror that said November on it. Not sure if that means it will be built the end of Nov. Then I guess it takes a month for delevery?

most of the time it takes 8-10 weeks thats what they say mine ordered 4/1/2005 ot it 6/20/05 mine sat for a month in newark nj

Ha Ha. Welcome to pergatory! Absolutely the longest wait in my life. Just look at my sig. I checked daily on the progress, and I have a MapPoint map showing the route my truck took from Mexico to home. I suppose my worrying made it all that much worse. If you can, forget about it, and be surprised when it comes in.

Looks good 2gen3gen, but it has 3 things I refuse to buy, 4wd, short bed and an Automatic!

Every time someone mentions about ordering a new truck I always think about a friend on mine ordering his Chevy 4x4 SB back in 79. It took 4 months from the day he ordered it for it to arrive at the dealership. I believe he said they had some sort of strike going on at the time holding it up. :{

My 95 Dodge/Cummins took 8 1/2 months to receive from the time I ordered it. It was the first of the 2nd generation extended cab and back then they were very high in demand. It was well worth the wait because it was the best vehicle I have ever owned.

I just ordered a 3500 4x4 Mega Cab Laramie H 6speed with every option but the rear window defroster on 10-31-05. I had a wreak in my 97 2500 4x4 LWBQ cab. with a 150,000 mile. I am going to fix and keep as a work truck. I can not wait.

When I ordered my 04 back in Oct of 03 it took 9 days from order to arrival at the dealer. I guess I got lucky.

I didn't need to hear that ****! Rub it in next time... All kiding aside, timing has a lot to do with it, as well as your location being so close to Mexico.

I ordered a 06 the week of 10/26 and I havent received my VON yet. The dealer said he would let me know when he got it.

I ordered mine on the 31 of Oct, not expecting anything yet,I think I have a very new sales guy at Dave Smith he did not know about von/vin I will just have to wait. I need time anyways to get rid of my Ford

timing has a lot to do with it, as well as your location being so close to Mexico.

And dealer alottment. I ordered mine from one of the largest Dodge dealers in the DFW area.

When they order it on the computer, they push the final key and it generates the VON then. I got mine right off the paper he printed out when he ordered it. I called Yesterday, Its been approved for building, but that's it.



Being a Quad Cab it should not be busy on that line as everybody else wants a mega cab. (unless they are made on the same line ) AS long as its 30 days from now, I just joined the Farm Bureau, you have to be a member for 30 days to get the $500. 00 rebate. I checked with Dodge, they just re-did the Farm Bureau rebate again through Sep 06, she said they were mailing out the certificates to the Farm Bureau offices now.



Hell, even if they built it today it would take 30 days to make it to PA

I ordered my Mega Cab on 9/20/05, it was released from the factory on 10/18, it should arrive in Newark NJ on 11/2, and be delivered to my dealer on 11/14.

Where/how did you track yours daily and get the MapPoint route???

I ordered mine 10/28 and got the VON as well off the print out. Still no build date yet as of today.

Mine was ordered 10/25 in AM (dealer forgot power mirrors on 10/24 PM order and had to reorder it)



Today the order status changed to BG which I think means it was approved and is avalable to be scheduled. He checks it every day and calls me when it changes. I think he said he will have the VIN next time the status changes, then we will be able to tell where it is being built. Do they still build any of them in the US?
