Anybody order a truck recently?

Congrats Towpro, it's been a long time coming.



I picked up my truck yesterday. I admit that there were a few butterflys flying around in my stomach. Always that little voice in the back of my head saying that ordering a truck and having it delivered 1500 miles away can have problems.



I arrived at the dealer and found my truck on the lot. Exactly what I expected, and more, turned the key and only 4 miles on the odometer and full tank of fuel. Took me a minute or two to get used to the transmission, but after that whoa, this baby has pep. My first drive was to the line-x dealer and he did a great job. Tomorrow I pick up my canopy and then drive down to California for a vacation. I know a few people have complained about the seats, but so far mine are about perfect. Climbing mount Dodge means that Westin tube steps are about 3 days away.



I admit it would be nice to have an extra gear or two for the trip down, but once I'm back in the Yukon the speed limits of 55mph and 62mph (90 and 100km/h) will be about perfect with this truck.



Fuel milage not so great yet, but that's city driving and winter fuel I think. I have to ask though, how the hell do you guys drive every day in traffic??? I'm not a truck newbe, I've driven quad cabs, club cabs and crew cabs, but in Vancouver traffic I have to wonder how the hell any of you get around. People in Civics can't even keep in their own lanes, and it isn't as if a 3500 has much space to move.



Oh and the grin will have to be surgically removed, that's the only way it's going away. :-laf

After you check out the price on those tube steps, check out the Ones I bought. Several of us here on TDR have bought them, $175 shipped. Here is a thread that has pictures of what they look like. Once the ICE melts I can pull mine out of the garage and take a picture of it

It already can tow my RV faster then my Guardian Angle can fly. No need to modify it.



I will put the exhaust brake on as soon as I get a free weekend, does that count?

Everything counts. . well i fell on the ice last thursday and broke my ankle, needed plates and screws. hope i can drive before the new truck gets here.

Looks like the order lead times are getting shorter compared to last year. I ordered a Quad SB 4x4 on 1/13, sales guy called today and said it's due on his lot 2/24, that would be six weeks delivery to Northern KALEFORNIAA.
My last CTD was a 94 auto LB, so after 12 years I'm due for new. I just hope all the electronics controlling my engine treat me well, I never had to FLASH the 94'

Confirmed, 6 weeks from order to dealer. Built in St. Louis, a great truck and WOW what a difference from my 94'!

went to dealer today 3/8,asked if I had a vin# yet. Nope :{ I ordered on 2/22. he said they just got a ram in yesterday that was sitting in baltimore(I think) since 2/9. said that if they find something wrong in production everything gets frozen till they fix the problem

I wish us TDR guys had a contact that could do a little paper work shuffel and push are orders to the front

Mine went to JS on the 22nd of Feb and has been there since. I am hoping I am not another storage horror story. It was so much easier when I bought my first one off the lot. At least I get all the toys on this one.

The truck left the factory and is on the way to New Orleans via Laredo. Delivery date of 3 April. Total days from order to delivery: 56 (if it arrives at the indicated date). Oo.

Not Yet, But Would Rather Have It In The Head Rests, Looks Cleaner.

One I drove had the DVD player and when it was in the down position, the rear view mirror was pretty much useless when combined with the rear head rests also. I don't need the DVD anyways, so that's the only option I DID NOT get... ... . Oo.

Ordered an 06 mega

Yep - I ordered a new truck from Roger Williams Dodge in Weatherford TX. Not a great super deal, but very fair. Invoice on the new truck, but a very fair trade in on my high mileage 1998 2500 diesel.



Black 2500 2WD; Cummins/6 speed, antislip, GPS nav, engine block heater, cab lights, tow hooks, full Laramie package, dealer installed Line-X. First order when I get it will be mud flaps to protect the new paint, then the muffler comes off (muffler elimination kit from Geno's Garage), then a set of wheel to wheel nerf bars.

Task125 it was 23 days after I ordered before I got a vin#, you're right at that point so maybe Monday.

I think I had my vin in around 3 weeks. It took them 7 weeks from order date until truck rolled off assembly line. then they shipped it to storage and I received it 11 weeks later.
