Just wondering if anybody is running 245/75-17's on the 3rd Gen alloys. If you have pics I'd like to see them.

Scott

I run them on steelies...

I would wonder if they would be almost too narrow to run on the wider alloy rim?? IIRC, the steels are around 6. 5 inches and the alloys are almost 8 inches.

That's my concern also. Got a friend thats got a set I can get cheap and I need tires.

Thanks,

Scott

Could you look on a site such as CooperTire and see what rim size they recommend for a LT245x70R17??? That would give the go/no go you need...

Everywhere I looked says 6. 5"-7. 5" rim, measured on 7".

Do you know the 3rd Gen alloy width?

I looked at them today and the tread looks to be @ 1/2" narrower than the 265's that came on the wheels. I don't see why they won't work.

Thanks,

Scott

Factory alloys are around 8 or 9 inches IIRC... they are just wide enough to fit a 315/70r17. IIRC, even on the steelies the sidewall of a 245 is nearly straight, and on the wider wheel would be "V" shaped to the rim possibly.

The best thing would be to ask a tire shop...

If you were closer, I'd give you a decent set of 265s I have in my storage unit.
