Southbend has their OFE and so on, but they don't offer a two face Kevlar.

At least they don't call it that. Metallic is too grabby and wears the steel too much.

I read elsewhere that kevlar is supposed to be super smooth, and last 3 times longer than organic, and no wear on flywheel.

I think torque is a little better than organic too. Or is our stock clutch kevlar already? (They banned asbestos, so I am wondering. )

Anyone?

perfection hytest does offer a full kevlar clutch disk in their "zoom" line... ... i considered this when i was looking for a clutch... ... but gave them a call and with the power i plan on putting to the ground went with their ceramic button style clutch instead with the zvt diaphram and new flywheel... ... we'll see how it works... . should be here sometime this week but i don't know when i'll get it in

Actually we do offer the kevlar clutch for all applications. Problem with the diesels is torque. Kevlar is a great clutch material for a stock truck or mildly tuned truck but will slip with any bigger HP upgrades. That being said, why spend more money on a clutch when the stock clutch will do the same. If you would like to use kevlar, feel free to call me and I will set you up with one.

the kevlar clutches are also suited towards towing applications. they are good for about 450-550 hp. the allow some slip to give a good ride.

What about heavy towing? I don't have "serious hp", just an EZ, but I routinely gross 40K. Hauling cattle like I do, I like the thought of a smooth clutch.

a kevlar clutch would benefit you well. much better than a stock clutch ever will. this clutch is also very easy on the flywheel so that means a long heathy life.

I've looked at their torque calculator

http://www.zoomclutch.com/torque_calculator.html

and if the stock Dodge material is organic, the kevlar coefficient of friction would seem to give a 44% increase over stock torque. (with the stock pressure plate). The ceramic they claim to hold only about 5. 5% more torque than the kevlar. I don't know how accurate those coefficients are, but makes me wonder.

curious how do you like yours. I love my zvt from zoom and its the ceramic button disk.

South Bend's Con-FE is more "positive" than an organic clutch, but plenty smooth enough for my tastes. The feramic material does not wear the iron flywheel and pressure plate noticeably at all, unlike most ceramics.
