Just browsing the Bullydog website and notice they've got some new injectors. I'm wondering if anyone is running these and what are your impressions - power, smoke, drivability, idling, etc. ?

There was a thread about them not too long ago and those who tested them for Bully Dog said that they are not daily drivers. Might try to search for it.

Rodger Rodbolt (Larry Crawford) is running 6 or 7's. he put them in during the Muncie event this year. and did you see what he did in Muncie? That was his second hook ever to a sled :D

Couple ofhter West coasters I know have used BD 5's - Chris Sutton [Csutton7] and Nowel [HVAC], and I believe Chris has also at least pulled with the new BD 8's.

By the way, I heard that Silva got a ticket for excessive smoke driving in town with the 8's in a couple months ago... ...

Yup, been reading about BD5's for a few months now - need to know about their successors. I'm looking at pure performance - no towing. I'm looking for injectors that will be just on the ragged edge of drivability with the compound turbos that will be going on in early Oct. I wanted to get some specific feedback on the 6-8 models - anybody with first hand knowledge?

I've had the 8's in now since the end of April--may have been the first set issued--they are no worse for driving than the 5's except for smoke--there's more of it, but depending on your foot control you can smoke a whole bunch or smoke less (in fact I like them more than my old 5's)--for power they put out more than the 5's--don't remember the exact figure, but I'd say around 40-50hp more give or take a little-----chris

I have used 5's, 7's and 8's. They can all be used on the street without any problems as long as you do not tow and don't mind smoke. So far this summer I have run with the 8's in and love the performance! With the Comp on 5 and my foot in it nobody behind me has to worry about West Nile Virus:D

Man, I can't even imagine more smoke than the 5's on a hot, humid day with the A/C on. It's gotta be close to pure liquid black  .

Doug, if you get the stacks, you might want to add one of these to your shopping list... .

boring, yesterdays news

Really!:(

I wanted more smoke so while at Black Mountain's grand opening Daniel (CMNS_PWR) took out my rack stop. WAY COOL! For the first month. Still great to have for that pesky tailgater, and my friend who has a '02 3500 who is insanely jealous because I can make enough smoke to almost lose his truck.

But now I'm tired of having to baby the throttle from a stop light just so I don't leave a big black cloud on the car behind me.

Could have something to do with my idle too though, but I went on a 400 mile round trip this past weekend and mileage was down 4. 5MPG from last year AT THE SAME SPEED!

Thinking of just throwing the rack stop back in, and playing with the star wheel to have "just enough" smoke. :D

Actually Silva got out of the ticket, but the cop wasnt happy. Seriously, the 8's smoke alot, it can barely be controlled to an acceptable level on the street daily. Now dont get me wrong, i could really care less about smoke, but John Q public and Johnny law dont like it. I have had 2 cops a little peeved with me at a couple of occasions  And getting a notice in the mail from CARB isn't a treat either. Stupid Treehugging citizens. I havent driven his truck, but ive been behind him:eek: With a tight convertor and big turbo, i imagine it isnt much fun really to drive around town. You should have seen his truck towing another members truck home after an unfortunate incident. Looked like a Forrest Fire right B... ;)

Phil. . that's why a few more of us more "mild" BOMBed rigs need to get gooseneck hitches mounted in . . so we can pull'em home when they break
