Am i crazy or could it work? i have some parts left over from my 04 truck, one just happens to be an II silver bullet 66, has anyone else looked into how we could possibly run one of these on this motor?

it looks like you could just put a pipe plug in the coolant line to the charger, the only thin that worries me is if the engine would go into retard mode if i unplugged the engine brake stuff:-{}

anybody that can shed some light on this please do!!!! i bet it would run like a raped date! Ill do it but i need someone to tell me if im going to waste a day doing so:confused:

You never know what may happen with this truck. I blocked the EGR and it ran good for about 8 miles then wouldn't idle right. Smelled like it was dumping tons of fuel too, so I pulled the blocker plate and it was wet with what I am sure is fuel. Scarry thought what would have happened if I kept driving it that way. Just a FYI.

Why not go all the way, bolt in a '03-'04 ECM and get your injectors done!!!

I'll bet you'd have a runner then! (I've heard it's been done a time or two... )

EGR block

Where did you put the block? I did this on my 96 right befor the intake horn. and it worked real well so the exhast brake would work. Have been thinking of doing it on this one. just can't decide where to do it. Thanks

I hear there is a butterfly in the intake horn that you need to remove or you will burn up the turbo. I blocked the egr at the top of the intake. There are two rectangle holes that are easy to block off. But I would be careful. this is a lot different than the older 12 valve truck. The computer is watching every thing and in a lot of cases will de rate the engine when it doesn't like what it sees.

Why would raw fuel be going into or out of an EGR? Are you sure you blocked the right thing?

Ya I am sure. It was either fuel or water... . smelled like fuel and it could have been trying to regen while circulating exhaust gas is suppose. I really don't know for sure why it was wet, but it was really wet. Pretty hard to mistake where to block it off though. I understand now that you have to take off the butterfly in the intake too or it will overheat the turbo. I think I will leave it alone for now until I can learn more about the system. :confused:

you have to remove the butterfly from the air horn, then it will work.

not sure if yall use Dodge Cummins Diesel Forum but it seems that they are ahead of TDR when it comes to moding a 6. 7. There is a thread on there with a guy running with out the egr, the hole unit is off of his truck,(Cab chassis). There are a few others with regular trucks with it removed also.
