i'm gonna get some gagues soon, i think. . now, i'm not going to ask what BRAND you all have (that's been done a few times, eh?) but i am wondering where to put 'em. i don't really want them on the dash, and it's too easy to loose cars, pedestrians, etc. in that massive A-pillar as it is. i'm wondering if anyone's ever put gagues where the old soda catapult--i mean cupholder is, above the stereo... or is that too small a space?

Auto-meters

Auto-meter Pro-comp ultralites here, that a- pillar mount not bad, you get used to it pretty fast and you have those baby's right in your face. :D :D

Greetings:

I purchased a dual gauge that reads EGT and boost from Genos'. I mounted the 1/4 inch npt thermocouple pre-turbo and the 1/8 barb for the boost tube between the fuel filter and the MAP sensor (there is a 3/4 inch plug here that is easilly removed). Since I have no clutch, there is a nice rubber grommet that the hose and wires can be passed through. I pulled this off and punched holes in it with a bit of 1/4 inch tubing that I sharpened on the bench grinder (hole ends up being the ID of the tube). The gauge came with plastic panel to allow installation into the cubby hole to the right of the radio. I used the top of fuse 5 for the light so that it dims or brightens from the thumb wheel on the light switch. I used the top of fuse 8 to turn the gauges on when the ignition is switched on. I drilled a hole in the sheet metal surrounding the fuse compartment and used a sheetmetal screw to provide ground. I chose to mount my gauge here because like you, I could not decide where to put it and was tired of doing without. I am quite sure I will someday move it and the wire length will easilly reach to any new location I choose. Love my truck.

Cheers

There is a TDR member who has done just that with 3 gauges, and there is another member who has mounted 2 gauges there. I'm sure there are other members who have put gauges there, but these are the only pics I remember seeing on the TDR. You might try a search to come up with them. (forget the search I just tried and came up empty)

Bighammer installed 2 gauges in place of his ashtray. That location looked pretty slick as well.

cant really figure the code out to post a pic but Ive had these in for quite a while. It was kind of a tight fit and I had to bend some plastic and cut a little on the frame but I like the location. The pillar is hard enough to see around as it is

Try this link www.penstar.bizland.com . It's a company called penstar reproductions that advertise in the mopar magazines. They have a product that you're looking for. By the way, i have autometer gauges in my a pillar. They've never been in my way and are easy to watch w/o taking your eyes off the road too much.

but I've got mine on the A pillar and I don't feel or think they add to the blind spot of the A pillar---plus they're easy to see---

got the SPA's--what and where-ever you decide to get and put them is your call-bottom line is you'll be glad you've got them-----chris

I was just posting the picture that 446 was trying to post. I got my one little westach stuffed in the hole next to the drink-spillers. Click on the picture for a larger version.
