Gateway Chapter and GDOA Spring Fling #2

Dyno Day's in Greeley 4-22-06 BE THERE!

Ok so the RMR dyno days was kind of a flop.

So I've been in contact with Bruce over at Greeley Automotive Machine about the possibility of doing another event at his place.

This is the same place we had one last April. Very nice facility and great people.

Here's the deal.

April 22nd is when we're shooting for.

$40 for 3 good pulls

We will need some volunteers to help with registration and also to help strap trucks.

We'll start around 8:30-9 am and run till we're done. However we'll quit lining trucks up at around 3:00pm depending on how big the line is.

Last year I think we got 53 or 58 trucks through.

I'll talk with the Powerstroke club and see what the interest is. They were great to work with last time and even though they drive lousy trucks :D (thats for you Shay :-laf ) their still nice folks.

For now nothing is definite but I want to see what the interest is.

Please let me know ASAP and I'll get the ball rolling.

Thanks guys!

Count me in, I'm due for a ride on the rollers. I can also help strap trucks for part of the day. Do we want to have a drawing again? Will this be a charity event? Will I be able to get a chili dog fer lunch? :p

Just a couple weeks ago when I was up at Lazerbob's we were just talking about this, wondering if there would be another one this spring. You can count me in and willing to help strap as well.

Thanks guys,

Yea I'm going to try to get the food cart there and also maye do some doorprizes. Ideas welcome :)

I don't know about a charity event but it's fine with me. I'll need some ideas of which charity and stuff.

Right now I'm just putting the feelers out to see if ya'll want to do this.

Remember that this will be the first event that I've setup so any help or ideas you veterans have is great!

Thanks again

Jeremy

Ha, ha, ha Jeremy. :p Punk.

We are up for it over here at the CPSC. How about letting me handle the registration part? Also, lets get a sign up sheet with times for the helpers, so that the same folks aren't doing it all day long (same people, different day..... right Bob?). Last year Bruce really wasn't up for a charity event, but you never know. I think maybe one charity event a year is enough and we have that one in October. What do you think?

And if you need help with a food cart, holler at me. I will also get in touch with the Dmax guys. Oh crap, I'll just give you a call this week Jeremy. I need to talk to you about some other stuff anyway, but won't have enough details until after Thursday, so I'll probably give you a jingle on Friday.

By the way, April 22nd is Earth Day. Should we invite the tree huggers to our smoke show? :-laf I know, I am bad.

Do let me know if that date will change though, because April 8th I will be busy, the weekend before (4/15) is Easter weekend and the weekend after (4/29) Alan and I (and a bunch from our club) will be making our trip out to Arkansas for Brian's Truck Shop Grand Opening weekend. :D Oo.

April 1st would work too.

Earth Day :--) Thats AWESOME we can give the trees some exta carbon dioxide :D :D

22nd is going to be the best day for Bruce I think.

Rotating volunteers is a great idea. I can work it all day but if we can rotate others that'll be great.

Im in I can help for a little while too. I didnt run last year but i ll run this year. I might be able to get some more help too.

I just put my truck on the treadmill last night but count me in!!

That was fun!

I'll help strap or what ever needs done.

I will even try to video and take some stills.

Later in the month works better for me.

Pete

Hopefully the D-Max guys won't run down the trash cans this year and drag them all over the parking lot. That was a class act on their part. I'll most likely show up for a while. It would be nice to see everyone and get together.

Mike L.

Things progress nicely :)

I would like to have 7 guys to work the dyno all day.

I've got 2 already and I don't mean that you'll never get a break. It's just easier if I could have a set group that knows exactly what to do and then have some extras to throw in to give the all day guys a break.

I talked to Laser Bob about this and he said what usally happens is you get lots of guys that say that they'll help but when it come down to it, they don't show.

Thats why I'd like to have a core group so that there is alway enough guys there to do the work.

So if you say you'll help, believe me, I'll find you and get you in on it :D

Send me a PM if your interested in helping. I'm making a list.

We did a truck about every 12 mins last year and I'd like to keep it at that or even faster if possible!

Thanks guys!

Jeremy

I've got fliers all ready (kinda used the ones from last year - Thanks Mike :D ), so if anyone would like one, please drop me your email address (via PM or at -- email address removed -- ) and I will send one to you. You can print them out and place them all over the place (of course asking business owners first).

I've started plastering it all over the web. I would like to see a turnout like we have had in past years!!

Remember, even if you've got a stock truck, this is a great time to get some baseline numbers! ALL makes and performance levels of diesel pickup trucks will be welcome! We like em all!

See you all there!

Shay

(Jeremy, I'm working on that food vendor. I will let you know just as soon as I get one nailed down. )

I'll be there. Going to be any Fodes that will give the Dodge a run for it's money this year hehe? I think Alan forgot about the pipes I wanted to build...

Sorry dukey, you've got to call and remind him about those pipes. I'll PM you his cell phone number again.

I talked to LaserBob today and it sounds like it is all a go. Bob doesn't want to be tied down with a whole bunch of hassle, so if anything comes up, please everyone just ask either Jeremy or myself. We are handling the organization for this. Bob will be there on that day running the dyno, but that's it. (He's getting to be an old man, ya know :-laf ). We've got to keep Bob happy. :)

Jeremy,

I've got a few names from my club who will be there to help out and I will get some more. I will be there all day too (as always) and am more than willing to throw some coveralls on and help strap em down too. Since my Lockner family isn't helping to run the show this year :{ , I will have some help from our club to help me with registration/forms and you can hopefully keep the strap down crew organized and the line moving smoothly.

I have heard some complaints about my club not being involved in events, but please keep in mind that the work that I put into these events is huge. I don't promote or put my name on an event unless I am personally involved and know that it will be well organized and well organized events take lots of time, both before, during and after. That is why I stick to doing events with the RMTDR folks. I trust you. I don't do events for the sake of the CPSC, but for the sake of all my diesel truck buddies out there and for the promotion of diesel trucks in general. I may like to smack you all around a bit about your Dudge wagons, but if it blows soot it's all good in my book. So, let's all just have a good time!

I'm still looking for a food vendor... ..... anyone got any ideas?

Shay

Sounds good Shay.

Just send me a list of names and I'll be working a schedule!

And thanks again for all your help!

If you get any crap from my guys you let me know and I'll :-{}

Seeya!

Jeremy

Nah, no crap. These guys are all family to me, we might just bicker once in awhile like siblings, but that's it. :D Thanks though Jeremy. No worries, just clarifying myself. Must he a girl thing. :-laf

By the way, I see Engle Automotive in your sig. I bet you didn't know that they are my cousins, :) by marriage that is. Nice people, huh? :D And nice numbers on your last dyno.

Shay

I posted my dyno run video last night. Nothing special just kind of cool.

Actually it sounds awsome!

It's at http://davesdesk.net/petes-videos/

Look for dyno7

It's my brothers site, he posts my videos so my son up in Montana can watch them.

No, he can't sing! (if you watch that video but that day was SOOO funny)

Let me know what you think, it has a shamless plug for dyno days in it!

Wow really? Cousins huh?

I really like those guys and they do good work.

Sean is building a set of twins for my truck and I'll have them on by dyno days!

Newer, bigger #'s!
