anybody use this transmission pan ?

It's half the price of the BD and maghytec, and pml not to sure about the cooling fins doing anything but collecting dirt... .



but I like that it has a drain and holds 3 qts more than stock, any comments?

you didn't link to anything. Remember... . you typically get what you pay for.
None of the pans do a whole lot for cooling. They help only because they're bigger and the extra fluid helps with cooling, the fins don't do a thing.

I have the PML, works great, it is 2 quarts over stock for the 48RE, I also drilled and tapped it for my temp probe.

That reminds me of a certain device "guaranteed to increase gas mileage by 75%" . . and that's about how effective I'd bet this is, especially after those tubes get clogged with gunk. Even brand new, I doubt it's any more effective than the aforementioned aluminum pans, but if you're just wanting extra capacity for a lesser price, it may do the job.

I actually can get this pan for $84. 95 + S&H ,BTW if you read the fine print... . the pan is steel not alluminum. As long as the pan doesn't act like a big heat sink than it should work fine.

Those tubes add several square inches of surface cooling area. . . I bet it does help with cooling, at least over stock, and I believe steel conducts heat more readily than aluminum. Shouldn't be hard to clean the tubes, just use an extra long Q-tip

I would make sure it will fit the 48/47re the VB drops down more than the 518/727 VB do.
