6 235/85R16 LR E Firestone Steeltex Radial R4S shipped to my house for $610. Not bad...

Also, anybody recommend a better highway rib tire (the michelin's look good, but they are double the cost of every other highway rib on the site).

I have not tried them but I did look at Sam's club and they were cheaper than just about every one on Michelin's. They would have to order them though.

I used them last winter for the purchase of 4 Blizzak snow tires. Real good price and fast shipping. Also should add that I bought them mounted and balanced on steel rims. No complaints at all with the package.

I just got 4 Blizaks for my Bonneville mounted on steel wheels. Got em in 4 days, no waiting room, and I can put them on or take them off when I feel like it. Price was better than the local shop's price without wheels.

I have used Tire Rack at least once a week for work (parts sales @ car dealer) for the past 7+ years. I have never had any problems or complaints about them. I am waiting for my Bridgestone Revos 285-75-16 to come in off back order, thats my first problem with a delay, and would'nt ya know, they are for my truck. I highly recomend their site, but I did shop several places before ordering my tires.

??

Do they ship by US Postal Service? It's hard for me to get UPS or FedEx being over here in Germany. I would have to drive over a half hour to pick up a package by UPS, but by USPS I can pick up packages by snail mail.

Ben

I just tried them about 2 weeks ago . They had the tires in stock , at a good price , and got them to me in 2 days . :D

I buy my tires from www.costire.com

No online ordering anymore, but they offer different brands than tire rack does, and the prices are phenomonally good.

Since I'm a little over an hour's drive from thier store (they run a retail store and service facility), I drove over there and got new tires for my truck. The best price locally was over $600 for 4 top of the line Coopers, and I got them for just over $400, installed and balanced, too.

Due to shipping concerns, Costire isn't for people on the eastern half of the country...

But do check them out and give them a call.

They have a beautiful web site for shopping and comparing tires, but I found I can get tires locally for about the same price mounted and all. When I bought my Goodyear Marothons they were cheaper locally by quite a bit. Look your tires up and compare, then jew your local shop down if you can.

I used Tirerack.com last year to get a set of tires for a 1/2 ton Dodge. They were cheaper than anyone local and had them to me in three days. I would use them again.

After driving in todays slop, I guess maybe I should bite the bullit and throw some new rubber on. With 1000lbs of ballast, I could go no problem but I stopping was a challenge. Like the last time, I still have plenty of miles left on the present set but don't want to go through the hassle of breaking them down come spring.

None of the junk yards in my area have rims for my 97' dually. So, I thought I would check out mounted tires. I am going to go with 235 Michelin LTX's up from the 215's I have on now. Tireracks's website directed me to call. Guess that's due to the width thing.

I thought I would ask around to see if anyone has bought dually rims from tirerack or has a better (more inexpensive) source.
