Thanks again to everyone who responded about the taillight flasher. I saw this other device on Genos web site and it seemed like a good idea. All the site has is a brief description and and a small picture. What they say it does is allows your regular beams to stay on when you put your brites on, therefore having twice as much lite. According to the description, it simply plugs in and wont hurt anything. Anybody use one?, is it really that easy?

This one was chewed up pretty good some time ago. You might want to read the thread at:

Oh yeah, make sure you read the whole thing if you do. It turns out that the situation is different in the later trucks.

EMDDIESEL, I have the "special" Brite-Box NOT listed in the Geno's Garage catalog (although they stock it). The "special" version allows the addition of the '99+ Sport headlights in the '94 through '98. 5 Rams (positive switched headlight systems) as a direct plug-in installation. It has worked very well for me. The only down side being the price was close to double to the "regular" Brite-Box. I know one thing, when I switch on my high beams, six of the eight PIAA Super White Platinum Series filaments change night into day. #ad

Yes I have one on my 2001 and I can not live with out it , I have stock bulbs and they say not to upgrade them, if you use geno's memo on how to put it in, you will have no trouble.

Cool, i have the PIAA super white bulbs but they are stock wattage. And it easy to install?, no cutting the stock wiring or anything right?

Just plug it in, turn 'em on, and enjoy mobettah brightness, not neccessarily mo headlight range. Like mine a lot.

That is what the makers of Brite-Box said as a blanket statement however, when I asked them (directly) about using PIAA Platinum Series Super White bulbs in conjunction with the Brite-Box they said that was OK... bulb longevity would not be compromised. PIAA on the other hand, was not very receptive to the idea of having both filaments (within each bulb) driven at once. Oh well, you can't please everyone I guess.

I have had the 99+ Sport headlights/"special" Brite-Box/PIAA Platinum Series Super White 9007s and 9004s installed in my Ram for over a year now without ANY problems.

I got mine last Christmas and it was a little frustrating to do the install due to having to pull on the wiring to get it to the box. Also, within a week after the install, BOTH of my PIAA bulbs blew out and I replaced them with the stock ones I initially took out to install the PIAAs. Love it though, don't need the brighter bulbs anymore.
