I remember reading on one of the Ram diesel forums that someone had success with loosening the engine and transmission mount bolts, starting the engine and putting the truck in gear, then retightening the mouting bolts. Apparently this allowed the drivetrain to settle into it's "natural" position and eliminated the previous binding and vibrations. Might be worth a try, anyway.

Yeah, I might study the drivetrain angles and see whether they got the drivetrain "straight". I got an angle finder, might try that tonight.

Hey guys I went to the SEMA show and stopped by the American Axle booth and spook with the rep about your problems , I asked if they made the drive lines he said yes. I told him all the things you guys have done balancing, ect he said on the 4wd the problem lies with the transfer case and not the axles. All the returned axles were checked over and they could not find anything wrong with them. I think DC is just dragging their feet on this issue.

The frontend and transfer case in mine have been replaced with no change in the vibration. I can do a lot of things to make it worse but not better. I have done the motor and trans mount deal and it did help.

I have put a lot of miles on my truck in the last year (I usually average about 70k a year), but since I bought it, we also have bought another car... my daily driver. I plan on buying the DynaTrac kit after XMas (hopefully a group buy again?????)... I like hubs anyway. I actually might be under 30K this year on my truck!!!

I will also state this: the steering/handling is MUCH different with the DS in than out... with it out, the truck tracked very straight, was easy to control, easy to steer... installing the DS netted me wandering on uneven pavement a heavy feeling steering wheel, and stiff turning. All in all, it was much nicer to drive without the driveshaft... if it wasn't for winter right around the corner, I'd take it back out.

So, I am out at this point... no more throwing $$ at it to find a cure... just going to dynatrac it and call it a day... figure about 100k for the kit to pay for itself in mileage, not including no bearing replacement (in the tcase, diff, or wheels)...

And so everyone reading this realizes this... I have a manual... I know I read a thread on this board that claimed the vibration only affected autos, well, here is the oddball.
