I'm sure this has been brought up before but I've been watching that show 'King of Cars' on A&E. I notice they seem to move LOTS of Dodge trucks, many of which are lifted, bombed, ect. I was just curious if anyone has bought from there and what kind of experience you had. :D

I lived in LV for ten years, moving out about a year ago. I've dealt with the Towbin "family" with some car club issues and visited their old and new Dodge facilities. By the way, they are into just about every major brand of vehicles, not just Dodge.

The Towbin mentality is purely profit driven. Moving cars is the only way to make the numbers. Every gimmick, every technique is used. I'm not bashing their methods in any way, for the business model seems to work for them. BUT, by saying that, I recommend that the "buyer beware" saying truly applies.

The one thing that I do not like about Towbin is that they are totally bought into the gangster rap, blaring music, slick talk (no substance), hotdogs, loosing your keys after evaluating your trade-in... all the normal "tricks" a dealership interested in profit may use.

Mark M. may be able to chime in with some more updated information.

Personally, I will not buy from a high pressure dealership like Towbin. When I was looking for a dually in 2004, Towbin had a slick, red Laramie. But being accosted by sharks (salesmen) before I could open the door, blaring rap music, and knowing much more about Dodge trucks than either of the two salesmen I dealt with eventually led me to another source. Mind you I had no trade-in and was working on a cash deal with no financing. That blew the salesmen's mind and did not compute for them.

I'd fly into a no hassle dealership, sign the papers, and drive home before I'd consider the "Towbin culture" at the Dodge dealership. Interestingly, the Towbin Rolls-Royce dealership is not much better. It's not the rap scene, but not the pampering atmosphere one might expect. I guess it is OK for the nouvoriche "wantabee", but old money finds it a bit much.

i almost did. when i wouldn't bite at the first offer they looked at me like i had a twin growing on the side of my head. they can sell those used cars and trucks so cheap cause thats what they give for the trade ins. they offered me $3000 for my 99 durango and the balance would go on the new truck, all 7500 of it. wanted me to pay 945 a month for 72 months. walked out and went to chapman the next week and they had the same truck i test drove at towbin, but cheaper so i bought it there. chapman is still a "******* ship?" but they talked when they understood i wasn't gonna let them rip me a new one

Being an ex-car salesman, I find that show very funny and entertaining...

And thats about it... .

Gimmicks never earned me any sales, thats for sure...

Integrity Chysler instead

I bought my 2004 DOdge from Integrity Dodge instead. Tom Saitta sold the dealership to his partner this week. I have met them both and they and their staff are great guys. No high pressure and no gimmicks. I also bought three Dodges from another dealer in town and three of the people I bought from there ( Mike Stacey is one) are now at Integrity. Try them. I like them.

Watch their garbage fees, they make up phoney crap to make up for the "$10,000 off MSRP" ads then make it up on other fees.

I only buy from Doug Norston at Desert Dodge on Sahara/Decatur, he is fleet sales and you bypass all the car salesman games. Made the deal on the phone with firm price on my trade in and saved over $2500 from the local Pahrump dealership that I wasted 6 months with.

Intergrity Chrysler

I have had my warranty work done at Integrity and must say, the service department has been excellent and are mod friendly.

They were not yet open when I ordered my 05 so I went out to Saitta Dodge in Pahrump and ordered the truck and was dealt with very well... I DO NOT recommend their service department if you have ANY mods...

Do a search on " chopper cars" or " Josh Towbin" and then see what you think!! WARNING: make sure you are seated on something very firm and supportive !!! :--)

Both of my daughters used to work at Dodgeland (the one Tom Saita just sold) and the stories they used to tell about the other dealerships... whew! I've always dealt with Scott Reber and "Cowboy". They were at Dodgeland but I think they're both at Integrity now... Great guys... no BS... straight-shooters. The service writers at Dodgeland (J. R. and Rick) are SUPER... That's with a capital "S". If they dont' stay with Dodgeland... I'm goin' wherever they go. (you don't suppose they take such good care of me because my daughters are cute... do ya??? Nawwww...... ) :-laf

a long time ago.........

I dealt with Scott when I bought my first CTD in 1997. I traded him my 1989 Chev 1T Crewcab 454 SRW PU. The Chev was a good deal to start with but the gasser passed everything on the road but the gas stations. Now that Intergity has about 5 of the guys from Desert Dodge, I will go there from now on too.

Wow. I did a search on him and it really sounds like the guy is just flashy car salesman scum. I like the show because it's the same pricipal as trying to watch someone polish a turd. Even with TV magic and as entertaining as it can be it's not difficult to see that it would be a nightmare to buy from there. Glad I don't ever have to.

I caught the episode last night where the guys from Alaska traded an '03 Super Duty with 258k miles for an '06 Ram QC dually. They wound up paying $14,950 plus their trade in, which didn't sound too bad to me. I figure Towbin gave them $20k for their Ford, which seemed more than fair considering the mileage and worn condition. Or, was there a rebate involved that just made the deal look better than it was?

I bought a used 05 with 1200 miles on it from my cousin at Martin Swanty Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Kingman AZ. It came with some custom wheels and tires like Chopper puts on his truck. I wanted to go back to the stock wheels and tires and figured Chopper might have some laying around. I got 4 brand new polished wheels and tires with no milage on them from an 06 for $250. I would never buy a vehicle from him but I like the deal I got on them. PS I had the custom wheels and tires on the classified here and got them sold. :)

Never again.

I have a real horror story involving all of the dealerships here in Las Vegas. Integrity Dodge cost me $1,000 in rebates because I ordered a 2WD CTD with a 6 speed and put $1,000 down and was assured that the truck would be delivered in a couple of weeks. Over 4 weeks later I called the dealer and they acted like I was from Mars and the truck was no closer to being delivered than it was 4 weeks. By the time I got my money back the rebate offer was over and I was ******.

I called Dodgeland and and was assured that they had three (3) new 3500's and one used one on the lot. When I drove over there to pick one out I told the salesman that I was eligible for the employee discount. He talked to his sales manager and then told me that they didn't have any trucks like I wanted. Now I'm really ******.

I wound up buying my truck from Desert and ahd to sit there for HOURS even though it was a cash deal with no trade in. What's so difficult about that? I'm off to Kellogg, Idaho if I ever wear this one out. I've had it a year and have 4400 miles on it. Oh, I just retired so I'll be pulling a 34 ft. 5er around the country pretty soon.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Oh yeah, what do most of you people use for aux. fuel tanks. I realize that Transferflow are pricey so what do most of you use?

I bought my truck from Towbin. I definitely wouldn't go there if high-pressure bothers you. It doesn't bother me. In fact, I find it easier to drive a hard bargain with someone I don't really like that much. I got my truck for $33K + tax there so good deals can be had. I did have to spend about 4-5 hours there doing that though.
