My original piston style isolator died and now am replacing it with a diaphragm style but I'm at a loss for ideas. How did you do it?

Thanks, AC

I mounted mine on the firewall, right on the lip where the cowl seal is. Plenty of clearance and no issues with noise or needle steadiness. Been sitting there almost 10k miles now. It's just to the right of the valve cover and to the left of the fuel filter canister.

I mounted mine to the engine and the bolts that hold it together rattled loose. Read about it here. I would suggest on the firewall if possible. I've heard of mounting on the brake unit but that was third gen, may not work for you.

I made a bracket that mounts to the two screws that hold the master cylinder on. In this location the 18" hose that Geno sells will reach the Schrader valve on the VP44 or on the fuel filter housing.

Thanks for the ideas. After looking at my options I made a bracket that mounts on top of the fender and bolted it down. I didn't want to mess with running the hoses again so I ended up putting it in the same spot I had the old one. Sure nice to have that gage working again:D

AC--did DiPricol replace the defective isolator with a new diaphram type? Did they charge you for it? Do you have a contact phone number and address for DiPricol? I was told by Diesel Power Products that DiPricol doesn't make their own fuel isolators and never did. Diesel Power Product's supplier makes them for DiPricol now.

Jackit,

I'm not sure if Dipricol warantied it or Geno's did. When I called them they sent me out the new diaphram model no-charge:D If you want the number for Dipricol try calling Geno's and ask for Andy. He's the one who gave it to me back when I was having problems. Geno's service has been top notch. Good luck, AC
