2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Anyone Convert to Dually?

I am getting ready to get the fading dull truck repainted and have for a while been considering converting the truck to a dually. I would like the added stability while towing and when hauling construction materials. I would enjoy hearing from those who have done it, and how much work it was and whether or not it was worth it.



Additionally, has anyone ever used or have any comments on Arrowcraft kits? I don't really see how their kits would be anything more than show- they use adapters to add dual wheels and offset spacers in the front.



I'm more interested in the real deal.

I am in the process of doing that right now... I purchased a box and a dualie rear differential. All I have to do now is find some wheels and get the time to swap everything out.

A long time ago I had a CrewCab Dually K-3500 GMC w/38" Super Swampers on it and I used the Arrowcraft adapters in the rear to maintain proper spacing between the rear tires. The spacers were of great quality and over built. Ask them to send you a photo of there front bud wheel adapters ( they look better than the factory stuff ), and the wheel studs are huge.



I agree that the factory swap would be best but I just thought that I would comment on my experience w/ the adapters. Thomas
