Searching for a good quality medium price 5th wheel

If you get a full cover, and you have multiple slideouts, you will have to do something with the cover if you want to extend the slides while the cover is on. I've seen a lot of these covers that have zippers or velcro for the door (on the curb side) but don't have any of these for the drivers side. That's a major problem if you have two drivers side slides, like mine. I use 9X12 silver tarps. They extend just a few inches over the sides and don't interfere with the slides... . ;)

I spent ove $300 on an rv cover. The mold build up was impressive after the first winter. So was the accumulation of wasp nests which ruined the cover. I think the best bet would be a building or shelter of some sort. Still researching that one.

I don't need to use the slide when the cover is on, I am mostly worried about it becoming a shelter for Wasps

Never had a problem with wasps under the tarp. I have had them get into the refrigerator vents on the side of the trailer. I fixed this by putting a screen over the inside of the side vent. I have taped up the outside heater vents, and manual jack access holes, in the past, to prevent bees from entering those areas...

Thats what I am afraid of, the cover is not all that much, mostly added hassles getting it on & off and I just got done dealing with a hornets nest in the ground on our property so don't want to make a home for that kind of thing.

Our TT is not that expensive either, I think it was 14K so how much good will it do if I keep it another 5-8 years??

Dang Jumbo... looks like yours will be well preserved!

I am thinking a cover for our 25' TT would help preserve it better and keep it cleaner. Are covers more of a hassle than worth it?

It would need to be weather proof and easy to handle. Seems like it would be a good idea to have one that secures on the roof rather than having a big bundle to deal with if there is such a thing.

I've covered all my 5th wheels. The last one I traded in in Jan. 2005, the dealer sold it that same afternoon. It sure helps

Roof Covers and sealant

Spoke with a dealer I haul for recently about the soft sealant they are using on the new trailers. 05 and 06 This new sealant is used on the one piece roofing material that is some synthetic (plastic single sheet for whole roof). I was very impressed because it is quite flexible and asked about it. What he told me was shocking. This new sealant will dry out and crack and leak sometimes in as little as 3 to 6 months. They look at it as a new profit area since so many people do not know about this and fail to safeguard against it. By the time the owner finds out sometimes internal damage has been done and additional work is needed. Many just trade in and those that choose to have repaired face a big (profitable) repair bill. R C :(
