Hey guys,

My ride is outta warrenty, and if I shift "proper" I don't experience any grind, but if I'm bangin' the gears i. e. drag racin',I get the grind. DOHH!!! I was practicing my launches yesterday, when I determined my trans has "issues".

I don't want to have the dealer do the fix 'onnacounta big $$$$, so I'll do it myself, I have access to all the tools I'll need.

Question, anybody did this yet? Wanna share some "tips":D

Don't be shy, speak up, I'd rather not scatter my trans all over the Muncie dragstrip.

I was wishin' that the Amsoil would help,... ... ... ... ... not.

TIA Later,Rob

I asked a similer question a few weeks ago. I heard it takes a fairly large (10 ton?) press to get some of the work done. There is a counter shaft assembly available to save that portion of the work. I looked through my shop manual and the problem synchros are just about the last item removed when a complete tear down is done.

I think I'm going to just live with mine since I don't have a local dealership and I really don't want anyone else touching my truck.
