If its the same engine in the little jeep, they run pretty good. I had a guy try to "smoke me out" yesterday at an intersection, very little smoke, but I had to run WOT to catch him, did'nt take long to catch him (once my tires stopped spinning :-laf ) but that little CRD took off pretty good! Now a GC has more weight to it.

From what I understand, it is a different engine than the liberty had. The liberty engine was a 2. 8 liter of italian descent... and did not meet the 07 EPA regs. The Grand Cherokee engine I believe is the 3. 0 liter Mercedes engine. I haven't driven it, but have heard good things.

Its a great concept but Jeep is haveing a huge problem with the automatic behind the CRD liberty - which I believe is the same transmission as the Grand Cherokee diesel (and Hemi Ram, for that matter).

A weak automatic behind a diesel? Probably the same engineer who signed off of the automatic behind the 2nd gen 12 valves.
