Like my other post says I am going to just remove the spare tire, but with as many of you on here that tow with stock suspensions, why would my PML make small contact when pulling my gooseneck? It is not a HUGE trailer, well within the weight limits of the truck ( 06 3500). No damage was done but I can see where it rubbed a little bit and took come of the paint off of the cover. When I got under it while hooked up on level ground I had maybe half inch clearance. I am glad I didn't get the Mag-hytec, I believe it is bigger!!! No big deal, just wondering who might have a quick solution. PML says that on STOCK suspensions you won't have a clearance issue...

Haven't had contact with mine. You can loosen the spare cable and pull the spare tire towards the bumper and retighten to gain some more space. :)

I had the same experience as Ropeteacher with my PML cover and spare tire. I did exactly what Hoagie suggested and pulled the spare to the rear using a large bungie cord and then retighten. So far it works.

Thanks so much guys!! Tomorrow I should have some time to look at it and see what I can do... . Now trying to find the little hole to drop the tire :)

I recently got mt New 285/70/17 Toyo Open Country A/T( E rated) W/ full size matching spare and a Mag-Hytec cover. I used a ratched type tie-down and all is well under mine, 10-12 pounds of air in the bags of course...

I noticed that my 285 spare also touches my rear PML cover. I pulled the tire as far back as possible, now I need to secure it back there. No rubbing if you do this.
