I did this as shown in the factory manual but I didnt get any dirt or scale to speak of.

I now have over 85K miles.

Just curious if everyones stays this clean. :confused:

1 Take off the lower radiator hose, I did it on the engine side. This is very accesable, on the radiator side, you'll have a hard time getting to it. Mine was there since the factory, so it wasnt easy to get off.

2 Disconnect the heater hose closest to the fender, at the back of the engine where the steel pipe connects to the rubber hose.

Fabricate a section of garden hose to fit over the steel heater hose line, and let her rip.



I ran it a good long while, but a minute or two seemed like it would have been enough. I pinched the garden hose off, and let it go a few times to give it a good slug of water.

I also re connected the lower hose to the radiator and let it backflush the radiator. I reversed the flow in the radiator a few times just to be sure. I also put the cap on the radiator, and let it flush out the heater core.

I got little to nothing out of the block, and very little out of the radiator.

Figure about an hour for the whole thing.
