Anyone experiment with tire size on stock height trucks yet?

Just wondering if anyone has changed tire size without installing a lift yet. I had 315/70/17's on my 2005 2500 with stock rims and no lift and was wondering if the same size or larger would fit on the 2010's. The wheel wells seem large enough, just not sure about rubbing while turning due to backspacing and tire width. Thanks
