Anyone gotten in trouble for straight pipe?

Okay... had to make another post. Coming in to work this morning, I had my windows down (enjoying the sound of my straight pipe) and thinking that it's not too loud. Then it happened... I was passing through a parking lot with just a couple of vehicles in it. I drove by this minivan (just babying it about 1500 rpm) and as my exhaust reaches the van, it's car alarm goes off! I busted out laughing... maybe it's a little louder than I thought.

A little off subject... . When I was into loud music(not so long ago) We would take all 4 of my home speakers and put them in the bed of my truck. mind you, these were rather large ones with 15 inch subs. We ran it on a marantz 200 watt/8 ohm per channel 4 channel amp from my home stereo. (ran it on an inverter). The cops got to me one night for setting off every alarm (building or car) on Glenway avenue. He was not amused to say the least. Can you beleive that he actually made me disconnect the inverter and he took the 150 amp inline feed fuse. I was mad as h... at him... but I did not get a ticket. I guess he was a little inpressed with our "Ghetto Blaster" LOL

Had the 3" pipe straight out the back, I loved it ,but my wife wouldn't ride in it anymore. She could here me coming for over a mile. Going to 4" with straight thru with muffler.

Hate to be a party pooper but in the "owners manual" I found this: (1998 p 204)
TAMPERING WITH NOISE CONTROL SYSTEM PROHIBITED
Federal law prohibits the following acts or the causing thereof:
1. The removal or rendering inoperative by any person, other than for purposes of maintenance, repair or replacement , of any device or element of design incorporated into any new vehicle for the purpose of noise control prior to its sale or delivery to the ultimate purchaser or while it is in use, or (2) the use of the vehicle after such device or element of design has been removed or rendered inoperative by any person. Among those acts presumed to constitute tampering are the acts listed below:
* AIR CLEANER
-Removal of the air cleaner
-Removal of the air ducting.
* EXHAUST SYSTEM
-Removal or rendering inoperative exhaust
system components including the muffler
or tailpipe
