my power door locks on my 2001. 5 quad cab with the slt package are acting up.

.

what it was doing today:

i unlocked the doors by keyless entry and in the next few seconds the door locks unlocked by themselves. i started the truck in hopes it would stop. my autolock comes in at 15mph and the locks unlocked shortly thereafter. i heard the locks attempt to unlock but they were unlocked already. at times it was unlocking to the point i figured it would blow a fuse or burn out a module.

i manipulated the keyswitch (while the truck was running) to make sure it was not too far forward or back. i cut the truck off and locked and unlocked the doors from the door switch to go inside my office. after a minute or so the doors unlocked again.

i pulled the door lock fuse (#13 i think) and left it out for a few hours. the fuse killed the dome lights and steering wheel audio controls too.

i plugged the fuse back in and it now seems to be working again.

i suspect i have a bad door lock timer or keyless transmitter.

has anyone had a similar experience?

it happened once a couple of months ago and seemed to clear itself up without any input from me

thanks in advance.

i searched over 200 threads and the only other thing to mention is the drivers door window/lock switch was replaced under warranty at 85k. the warranty expired at 100k and now i have 105k.

I have not went this route yet, but figure its worth a try, new lock cylinder switches are 44 dollars and change from Dealers. . TL
