I am 99% finished my GMC/Cummins/6-speed/NP241HD conversion and I am having a few issues with wiring and am wondering if anyone has a manual that they could look something up for me?

I am trying to hook my speedo up to 241HD and am having a hard time with wiring. The Dodge wiring (speed sending unit) has 3 wires and the GM unit only has two wires.

I looked in just my cheap Haynes manual and it only shows 1 wire going to the sending unit and thats an orange wire... there are still a purple and another one.

If someone doesn't mind and they have the manual can you help me out?

Thanks in advance... RyanB

RyanB,

The 3 wires correspond to +5V, ground, and signal to PCM. I don't remember the order anymore. Also, the unit cannot exceed 8V max. and is best to be run a 5V supply. The sensor is an 8 pole rotating magnet with an Allegro Microcircuit hall cell and 2 4700pf capacitors for noise. PM "wicked6" as he recently did the same thing and I had found the wire tracings at that time for him. Good luck...

From 96 service manual: ground=black /light blue, 5-volt supply=red, speed sensor single white/orange (splits - goes to PCM and instrument cluster).
