I'm interested in getting a Warn Transformer winch mount/grille guard for our '01 Sport. I know Warn says the Transformer isn't for use on trucks with the Sport package, but I assume this is because of the different front fascia (which I already expected I'd have to cut). I would be interested in knowing whether the installation is straightforward or not and what the price was for the grille guard with winch mount. I've had other Warn product before and found them to be top notch. I'd expect the same from this product.

I've got one, with a M-12000 winch.
The assembly was pretty straight forward, I had to cut a couple of holes in the plastic next to the foglites. All the parts fit well.
I think the grill guard is not rated for anything too big, in other words, Bambi, not his dad.
The one thing I recently discovered is that If I put a Hi-Lift jack under it , it will roll the assembly to where the winch is pressing against the bumper. Not good. Because of the way it goes together, it's hard to get the rattle gun on most of the bolts to tighten them up good.
The unit w/winch weighs something like 245 lbs, and dropped my front end down about 2 inches(with #39 springs).
It's a nice winch mount, put not very heavy duty for anything else.

I have some pictures of a Trans4mer on my non-sport 3500 sans winch at http://www.dodge-diesel.com/static/warn.html.

The headlight guards are just thin hollow tubing--they won't stand much punishment--and one of my has a broken weld. Installation is pretty easy especially if there are two of you.

I have a transformer/ multi mount on my 01( not Sport model)I really like it except for the factory cheap powder coating. I bead blasted it off and powder coated it with silver vein, one of the colors we use on our gun cases.

Thanks Mike for posting the link to pictures of your truck. I am most interested in getting the front receiver and now I have an idea what it'll look like. Thanks Beartrack for your response too. I had a Warn grilleguard for a different truck previously, and it, too, had a pretty marginal powdercoat job. I'll be prepared to paint it once it arrives.

I had a trns4mer on my 97 with a M12000 winch. I liked it a lot except for the coating. I have been checking with Warn for months about a new stainless steel mount(Rio Grande) that is suppose to be very slick. I have seen pictures of it on ferds and chebies in a Warn catalogue, but when I called Warn they said that they are not even making it yet and the one for dodges will be the last to be designed. Back in April, they said by the end of the summer they should have it and price should be around $500. But a call two weeks ago offered different information. Months out and $1400. I think the people answering the phones do not know much about current developements.
