Anyone have an extra light socket?

I'm going to put an ad in the classifieds, too, but thought I'd bring it to y'alls attention here, too. I go tmy tach kit today from PDR ($27us shipped to my door), and got my tach working (requires the white wire with the filter). But, I noticed I must have sent out my light socket with the tach I sold last fall. So, does anyone have an extra lying around in a box gathering dust, or know where I might buy one? NAPA had one with an odd, non-194 bulb, which WOULD work if I cant find anything else. But, it only comes in white, so it wouldnt match the other lights in my gauges. What I am looking for is the pulg in similar to the dash lights, only with the wires out the back instead of prongs out the side.

I'll look in the donor truck, I got the dash out. There might be a plug in there someplace. Was that dinger ok? This truck has the buzzer, if you prefer it.

I put one of those colored condom things for the light bulbs that autometer makes on my isspro tach , and it matches my factory guages.

Pete, the dinger works just fine. I now need to get power to the ignition key, but that is for another project. I have a spare (maybe 2) gauge cluster, so the extra bullb socket of that type I already have.



AKimmel- I have seen those prophylactic- looking devices. The light I found at NAPA was a mniniature 1156 looking thing. Maybe a 1001? I forget the number- I have never had one on a Dodge, and they only come in clear, hence my reluctance to get it.



I just happened to think of checking big rig places tomorrow. Hmmmmm... .....

Just paint the clear bulb with some green or red paint depending on which color you want it to be. Might take a couple coats to make it the right color.

Either the light cover, paint it, or buy a colored bulb. I know www.iowa80.com has them, and IIRC, Pilot truckstops have them as well.

I have one that goes in behind the wiper switch, by the headlite knob. Plastic socket, 2 wires.
