anyone have any lance camper experiance?

we picked up a 2004 lance lite camper. i cant figure out how to get the battery to charge from my truck when underway. anyone know how to do this? thanks... ... james

How well does it fit with the Mega Cab?



Sorry I can't help with your question, but I am curious about the slide-in with a Mega Cab.

If the electrical Jack is wired properly, it should charge. The truck's alternator charges the truck batteries first then the camper battery. Who did you connection, because I have to question what they did. Also make sure that they installed an Isolator from the truck battery to an 6 to 8 gauge copper wire to the camper jack. Make sure it's a Isolator and not an Ignition Switch.

Assuming you had it wired, did you check the switch(red button) in the battery compartment? It should be pulled out.

Mine has a silver colored knob that needs to be pulled out... .

69roadrunner: camper fits great. had to make a wood frame to raise it up 2 inches to clear the rails. it's nice with the mega because the camper dosnt stick way out over the hood. i wired the plug extension. i looked in my camper manual and the wiring is totally diffrent then standard trailer wiring, i'm going to take it apart today and wire it according to the manual... ... . as far as the push pull switch in the battery compartment: it has to be pulled out(battery on) to charge when i'm underway?... . james

On my 2001 820 the switch must be out to work the lights and charge.

next time it's on the truck i'll take some pics. i still cant get the wiring correct! the plug on the camper looks totally diffrent then the one in the owners manual. my next step it to contact lance directly.
