How do they wear? I've been getting the michelin LTX M/S, but the commercial t/a's are about $60 less $$$.

Do they last? How are they in the rain? I dont get much snow here for it to be a real issue. About 90% of the time I'm empty. The other 5 is with the travel trailer. About 8K lbs.

TIA

Eric

PS I've been getting about 65K miles out of the michelins

I haven't run them on the pickup, but I have run them on a number of other vehicles. They are an excellent highway tire and wear well. They do not do well on wet roads after they get worn a little unless you add some extra groves. They are WORTHLESS in mud or dirt!!!

I'd have to agree, but my Michlen LTX's were just as bad on wet roads/grass and mud.

I got right around 25k on my back set with half tread left before I took them off.

To the credit of the BFGs, they are very stable with a heavy load. I run a set on my travel trailer and love them for trailer tires!!! They are great on dry roads on other vehicles I have had. I have a tire grooving tool and can fix the problem of a lack of traction on wet roads and in mud in about 30 minutes per tire!

Thanks guys. I still havent decided. I will need tires before November when my inspection is due.

I've seen the BFG's for $147, and the Mich's for $210. That's mounted, balanced, disposal fee, tire stem, etc. etc. road hazard ins. Everything but tax.

Maybe I got to do some more shopping.
