I was reading our last TDR Magazine and was impressed with the info on Pg 85. I just called these guys (Tony),... very straight forward and helpful. He said if I went with their Converter and Valve Body he would talk with my installer and walk them through everything on the install,... there are a number of pieces to this Valve Body kit. Anyway,... anyone have any experience with them or their products? They make an interesting statement in their add about their Triple Disk Torq Converter. Good reading.

I don't recommend the"trans buddy"valve body kit. I followed the directions to a T and the transmission never acted right. I've been putting in shift kits for 15 years and it was the most complicated one I've ever done. When I talked to Tony about the shift problems I was having I got the run around. I ended up buying a complete suncoast valvebody,I couldn't be happier with it,nice firm shifts and no "weird" shifting.

So did you get their Triple disc converter? I noticed you got the valve body kit. I know they sell the assembled complete valve body. Do you know anyone who has that and did it work good? Surely someone else has used this "trans buddy"??? When I think back on the conversation with Tony,. . I'd say he was highest on the "trans buddy" as he said people wouldn't be breaking off these input shafts if they had this valve body. He said the only real weak link in that trans is the valve body as it doesn't time the second to third gear shift properly and that's what happens. Maybe someone else will get in on this and enlighten us.

I deleted a post out of this thread from an installer of another companies products. Please stay within the guidelines.

The only solution I can come up with to stop this is to institute a rule that when it comes to automatic transmissions if a post is started about ATS trannies ONLY those with ATS trannies or stock can post to it. If a post is started about DTT trannies then ONLY those with DTT trannies or stock can post to it. Likewise with BD, Suncoast, Goerend, or others.

I did the trans buddy first, then the the suncoast valve body, then 6-8 months later the suncoast converter.

BTW when you do a trans buddy install you have to drill holes in the valve body,Allot of places won't accept a drilled up vb as a core, once you do it you can't take it back out. thats why I ended up with a different vb.

PMs welcome as I don't want to make a mistake and/or I would appreciate confirmation of a positive nature. Tks for all assistance.

I had a dunrite torque converter in my 97 and the shift kit installed. The truck had mild power upgrades in it. The torque converter went out about 3 months out of warranty. Called the company and they told me that with the model I had they had seen several go out after warranty. But they offer no help at all. Warranty was up, and I was stuck. On the other hand I on my 2001 I installed DTT valve body, TQ convert, and many extras, and the truck was modified alot. One year and 2 months after the insall, the TQ convert and third gear went out, possibily due to parts and possibily due to abuse ???? Anyway I called DTT and the sent me all new parts even the ones that were not damaged they even sent me the upgraded parts that I didnt even purchase the first time.
