I can't believe this stuff.
I don't hang around this forum much anymore due only to the fact that my truck is the way I want it and I'm into Jeeps. I would love to help others when I can but there are plenty of newbies that know as much or more than I do.

Jeeso Peetso, picking on HVAC (my friend)! I can't believe it. Scottie (filter guy and another friend) is gone! What's happening to this forum!! Darn, darn!

Well it's not hard for me to see what's happening.
A guy get's into these trucks and goes crazy. He spends a bunch of money coming up with new stuff, does a lot of research and admirably gives his wisdom to fellow diesel nuts. Then, the idea comes, to go into BUSINESS! Oh crap, Now the great guy is a VENDOR! Yes the moderators have to treat this friend of the board differently, shame, shame on those dirty moderators! Are these really cool guys/vendors telling you what is, or selling their products, or both? Decisions must be made!
Jump up or down or raise heck?
Ted Jannety and others were in business before they got on this board. Nowell, Scott and others were not! My friend Lawrence at Diesel Dynamics wouldn't consider getting involved in this stuff and is probably smarter for it. No one is picking on him and HVAC promoted his stuff for a long time.
Jeeso, give the moderators and the new vendors a break and don't make this so darn important!

I am yet another person who has decided that this board is no fun anymore, all I see anymore is children squabbling over things and people being beaten up over stupid situations.

I will only put my piece in about the ECM as this; I was there when HVAC e-mailed Marco about the poor results when he first got the ECM back; we had a full discussion about the problems it encountered and he did not post on this board out of respect for Marco so I’m sorry but he did tell Marco about this. Also I think it is pretty odd that someone would send a person a product to test (take up that person's time and energy) then come back with oh yeah I sent you a product that was purposely faulty because I didn't trust you. Well the hell with that, I wouldn’t buy the product just out of disrespect for the manufacturer.

Also I am curious about this, if Nowel is such a dishonest bad guy a$$hole, then why did he send Marco a DTT Torque Converter and Valve body at his cost along with getting it shipped and supporting his install; if Nowel is so bad then why would he do this? I don’t know sounds like something a friend would do, not an enemy.

Nowel is a very good friend of mine and he has done a lot of things for the people on this board; a lot of the products now available would have not been a big success if he had not stepped in to find and test them, along with promote them. He did not come on this board (as many have said) as a vendor he does the side business of performance parts for fun, so let him make a few bucks; you think it is free to go to these shows and talk on the phone all the time to places all over the U. S. ? I think it is sad that people must beat up other people because of their insecurity.

Also a quick note to Rob Hanson's comment "I can see that from the previous postings this will not be too popular... I don't mean to offend anyone. " ---->Get off your high horse and get a life, I find you and many of the posting you have made on this board offensive! It seems every time I read your post you are giving a negative statement about something or someone; quite frankly myself and many others that I have spoken to would really like to have you BACK OFF! You seem to think your god or the ultimate Moderator; well your not.

I apologize for being straightforward and quite honestly blunt, but I have had enough with this B. S. that goes on anymore. I and many good people have been driven away from here because of politics and just plain Bull $@!* and many of us don’t like being disrespected or accused of things we have not done. Mcrossley... instead of getting off my high horse, I challenge you or HVAC, (since he has emailed me, I responded, and he was the one with the smart aleck comments)to show where I knowingly posted any false info. I can show that he continually posted that the VA was worth -about 20HP-, when in fact, it has been dynoed by sportbike and others at 42HP. Could it be that he does not sell the VA? Same with the 275RV injectors. Although, I see on his site that he is now carrying them. Can you or he deny that he did the things that I have mentioned? I think not.
I am not "on a high horse". I just want a little honesty and for us all to follow the rules. He wasn't.
HVAC emailed me and wanted an explanation. I emailed him back and gave one. Now, in his email, he stated that he thought I would rather air this on the board. I do not choose that... you did! I don't suppose he told you he emailed me the other day, did he? Read those emails, see the tone of each of us, and then get off your high horse. If I need to, I can post his emails, of which you can read his smart aleck comments from clear back.
I stand firmly on my statements. I have not mislead anyone on this board. Whether intentionally or not, I believe he has.

Yes he did sell me that line of BS. He also stated in the same MSG that those numbers were NOT right.
This was only one more ... he has told me.
Respect for who and what. We were supposed to do R&D togheter. A little hard if you get never any feedback. What do you say?

Just to make things a little more comprhensive to all.
The ECM I've send to Nowel works, and it does what it's supposed to do. It adds something like 50/70 hp to the stock level.
The dark side off that ECM is that it's timed at the highest point possible. This means that you can't add propane or a fuelling box. I advised Nowel off that.
I've written that file in that way just to make sure that if it would have been copied,
or anything else went wrong in any way, it would have been useless on the market.
Then more the Nowel saga goes on, then more I'm convinced that I did the right thing.

I've NEVER said that Nowel is dishonest. I've asked several people to stop to say that!
The only time Nowel was ready to help was when I had to BUY something from him. He was very quick then. Once the DTT's stuff was in my transmission I had a problem with the shifts. He brought me in contact with Bill.
That's all.
Do you need to know more about my truck and it's transmission?
I don't know if the price was good or not. I don't care!
Fortunatly I don't have to worry about every dime I spend. Also in that circumstance I had to deal with a Vendor and not with a friend.

Glad to hear about your friendship, that makes things even clearer.

Thanks for the insecurity. I hope you permit me to say that if someone here is insecure that's not me. I'm here facing your post and keeping the facts in the right perspective. Someone else has dissapeared. Why is this? Insecure?

Wow! I just happened to check this thread out ou curiosity and for some some extra reading.
So, I cannot really comment on a lot of what I've been reading. I'll just make a couple of comments:
I've had the priveldged opportunity to meet and talk to Nowell, a fellow home construction sub-contractor btw, and I found him, during a get-together in Modesto ,CA. , to be extreemly accomadating to the 15 or 20 RAM diesel owners that were there for advice, and/or, hands-on installs of various products he or other 'vendors' had brought to install on our trucks.
He let me, free of charge, and of any pressure to buy, a used 'PE EZ' box which woke up my truck and put a big grin on my grill. #ad

I asked if he had any for sale and he did but, because he had been following my posts on the 'TDR', ie: that 'I was unhappy' with the performance of my stock Y2K RAM, he said he would give me a discount on the 'EZ' because he felt sorry for me and hated to hear that I was so unhappy with my RAM.
I bought it right there on the spot and it is an 'awesome' improvement. Now that I have the 'bombing bug' I'll just deal through Nowell for my 275's or anything else he wants to sell me.
If I can get anything cheaper here in Sacramento, I don't care: HVAC did me right and I believe in 'loyalty!'

I can not believe this. I read postings in this forum for information and all I have seen here is a whole bunch of whinning.

My first question is if an Echelon LON Talk adapter will work to download my ECM program?

My seccond question is what do I do next once I have the program?

Since things don't seem to be getting any better as of this point I am going to close this thread. If anyone wishes to open another post regarding the technical aspects of this thread then please feel free to do so. If you wish to continue the current debate do so via private emails - not on the site. A public forum requires civility, diplomacy, and discretion - which is not happening in this thread.
