Competition NHRDA/NHRA july 29th race

Off Roading Tellico: Cherokee Crawl

I'm anxious to hear any results that are coming in from Indy... I ended up not being able to make it, and I'm very curious to hear what kind of times have been posted... I'm sure others are wondering as well... .

The Scheid Diesel Pulling truck broke a front U joint during his pull in qualifications.

This caused the truck to violently pull off the track then back and then was redirected back onto the track to try to save the pull.

The Scheid truck was using a new set of "wide" tires that the PRO MOD Gas trucks use. Needless to say the tires work and really GRAB!!

Terry Martin's (SCHEID DIESEL) truck won the MODified Quals yesterday.

George Peterson's 12V auto won the street quals. (Nice work HILLJACK ENGINEERING!)

A nice note about the Prostreet class is that the "Brad Ingram" truck from Illinois is now running a full blown Scheid Motor. When he took off the truck started to bend upward in the middle.

POWER!

The Prostreet guys had a real nice class also. Alot of good trucks... Craig Severson, Curt Haisley etc.

BIG BAD DODGE Had alot of trouble in the MOD class. His pull was super rough and hopped and bumped all the way down the track.

I heard on the phone that Jeff Strothkamp pulled the sled onto the pavement and won the STREET class.

I don't know who won the Prostreet.

I hear KENT CROWDER OF SCHEID DIESEL (suprise surprise) won the MODIFIED diesel class and pulled it out onto the pavement also.

Congrats to all who pulled this weekend!

I have no clue what happend today, we left early... .

BUT yesterday it was very good,,,,, If I remember right 78 trucks in the street class alot of good pulling yesterday.

Pullin' notes only, I got there late. Mod's had to pull 40,000#. He He. ESPN 2 and Extreme 4x4 were filmin'.

Yeah, that THING that Kent Crowder drives, ('cause that unholy monster sure ain't no pickup truck) tried to drive back to Lafayette with the sled. Cool paint job, Kent. 347. 9 feet and the only reason he stopped was the big dude with the flag got in his way.

By the time Jeff Strothkamp yanked it onto the pavement in the Street class, I was feeling sorry for the sled! :(

Finally got to see Big Bad Dodge in the flesh, so to speak. Scott, awesome ride, even with the itty bitty pulling tires on it! :-laf He got a case of the hoppitys, though.

Eric Stacey's half 2500 and half 3500 (a Dodge 3000? ) broke. DANG! How did he get those wheels stuffed in there? Too cool.

Curt Haisley broke, too. Both Haisley and Stacey broke BEFORE getting to pull. Darn.

Roger Straley pulled a strong 276. 02 in the Razor's Edge.

Rock Hard Ram (This ain't no Hemi) durn near got it on the blacktop, too. Pro Mod pullin tires on the back, All Terrains? on the front. 294 yesterday, 321. 05 today. Suhweet.

Blue Ford with a Cummins? 'Smoking' on the side and the air filter on the grill. Did he get a full pull?

Terry Martin out of Ohio got over 300 both days. 305. 04 today. Schied came to play!

Rich Smith's Duramax, Dave's Diesel Angola, IN ain't skeered of NUTHIN or NOBODY.

Oh, and Christian Roth's truck need to be a little bigger. It'd be cool if you could drive it.

Some of these trucks spool up, and I swear they sound like a steam locomotive at first. Puh Puh Puh. Then they take off and sound like fighter jets.

I'm goin' to bed.

I am not sure how sleddy ended up. But I do now he backed into a golf cart on Saturday during qualifing.

:-laf :-laf :-laf

Every puller that competed in the top 25 Street class today pulled much further than they did yesterday.

The farther they got down the track the closer and closer they got to the asphalt and everyone in the stands new it was just a matter of time. Oo. Oo.

Jeff Strothkamp was the only Street Division truck to go ALL 4 TIRES on asphalt pulling the sled and he left BURNOUT marks to prove it!

After this great display of Cummins power the great and almight SHED PUTTER! walked up and down the track :-{} on a two way radio for a few minutes and then it was annouced that any truck that had pulled over 350 feet or was yet to pull over 350 feet would be in a pull off.

Jeff Strothkamp, Ryan Updraft (sp?), and Michael Tomac were the only 3 in the pull off. Ryan was first (a white Kentucky Duramax that's been giving the Dodge boys a run for their money in the street class) and pulled just short of the 300 ft mark..... Jeff was next and pulled a 301. ?? to a ROARING CROWD APPROVAL... ... then it was Tomacs turn... ... upon launching it was odvious something was wrong because smoke starting appearing under the truck instead of out the rear stack... ... then what appeared to be a boost leak shut his truck down very quickly to a 240? or 260? foot run.

That's all she wrote! Oo. :-laf

Jeff Strothkamp did all that damage in a 24 valve?

I tell ya, the CaTHCHER ECM is a huge step up in low end fuel delivery, make our 24s act like a 12 valve, eh Bob?

Well as usual the Pulling gang is the first with the reporting... ... ... ... ... ... ...

What about the Drag Racers?? What happened? Who was the fastest there? any new records?

And what about the Dyno Queens? Any horsepower records change?

Gotta give credit to the pulling crowd for their qwik reporting... ... .

Jeff's got a 24V in that truck?

Dragracing - TS Perf ran consistent 11. 4's with a single stage nitrous - dropped to 11. 0 or 11. 1 when they added a second jet for an exhibition run at the end. A Duramax hit an 11. 0. Black second gen Dodge hit a 10. 61, I think it was, but couldn't back it up for the record - had a 10. 82 or something the next time and broke before finals. Wasn't in the stands when the dragsters ran, but I heard 9. 5x at 144 announced...

Chris

Oh, and did I see jetpilot's old truck on the dyno when the pulls were going? I was pretty far away, but it looked like it could have been it...

The Drag Racing I saw was fun... but due to the high heat I think the guys were having problems building boost and keeping traction. Saturday the Bentz Dragster did a burn out, then launched with some wheel spin, and at each shift would break the tires loose! Tough to make a fast run like that!

Josh

Hey Josh. Sounds like a good time there..... I can't wait to hear more results... . The Forums have been realitively quiet all weekend... ... ... . A few pulling reports is all... ... .

Sounds like that rail is gonna set even more records when Scott and Dustin get that rail to bite the track... ... ... .

Wish I coulda made it this year!:{ :{ :{ ... ... .

There's always next year!

Was it by chance this nut case on the right in the pic? ;)

Hey Andrew, I heard Joe didn't make the trip. Was testing last week and was pushing coolant out somewhere. Couldn't find the source of the leak. This was second hand info, so I could be all wrong.

Jim

Hey I know those guys!!!

That is my truck in the backround with the hood up.

That was a good day of racing :D

It helps when take first

So who's got videos? :D

Got your PM, I replied.

I have a little bit of drag racing (not much), but I'm more of a sled pulling fan. I got EVERY single truck that went down the pulling track. Including the one that went OFF the track and left burnout marks to prove it. 369 FEET!

PM me for details! :D
