Air matresses - any recommendations on what to get?

I was listening to Sam and Dave this morning talk about towing heavy. Sam made the comment that the weakness of the Allison is the torque converter. That sounds pretty familiar. One guy with 15k said his Dmax had a ticking noise since new in the transmission and the dealer said it was normal and this brought on the discussion of weak torque converters and poor welds on the flex plates etc. If I had tuned in a little late I would have thought he was discussing Dodges!

Iv'e also heard that any engine upgrades to the Dmax and the clucthes in the Allison will start slipping, Seems like they have their problems too! WILDMAN

We have allisons behind the 444E at work and every one has gone to allison for a replacement converter this was determined from trany oil samples they required us to take these are medium duty trucks same trany as the gm pickups with dmax...

Around here they are on the same station as Rush! It is usually on AM, but I think you can get a list on the Shade Tree Mechanic web site. They are on live Sat AM 9:00 EDT.
