Random question....

I may end up being in Texas towards the tail end of October with the the 1990. Question is, anyone know of anything first gen related happening in that time frame that would be worth planning into a trip? Any good boneyards 1st gen friendly? Anything of diesel interest? Mopar interest?

Also, anything worth seeing in TX in general? Never been to anything short of I-40 crossing the panhandle.

Thanks!

Robert

If you are a big eater, stop in Amarillo for a free steak (if you can eat it all, including all the trimmings):) Mostly you will see huge wind farms and oil pumps. The roads are good, even two lane county roads, good speed limits and courteous drivers, off the freeways. Unless you like water, Lots of it, stay out of the I-10 Houston area and points east. I always try to run the secondary roads you see more.

Haven't heard of anything in the gulf coast area as of right now. As you get closer to coming down, you may want to pose your question again to see if any events, etc have been announced.

Fort Worth stockyards are a good time, have a nice dinner at Joe T. Garcias. Can't help you with the rest. I left there 20 years ago but every time I go back "joe T's" is a must. Other than that, as the song says "happiness is texas in my rear view mirror". No offense intended for TX residents, it's a great state and good people but I need the mountains to keep my sanity.
